I've had one for a year. I like the sound - nothing too fancy - but quite good for something at/under $500 with balanced output. It seems reasonably well-built.
However, there are a few annoying things about it. In my setup I use it by using the optical out of an Apple Airport. Whenever I change tracks or pause the music for even a second, the audio data stops presumably and there is a quite loud click as the DAC deactivates. Of course since I am changing tracks, it will reactivate in a few seconds. This leads to a series of annoying clicks.
Second problem is that it will occasionally cause a loud pop out of my speakers. This seems to be some odd electrical phenomenon yet specific to this device since I have other DACs (audiophilic and commodity both) and have never had this problem before.
Has anyone encountered these problems?
