Not sure on the new USB. Fried had mentioned wanting it done by the end of the year. That was a while back and I don't know if he is on target to meet that goal or not. But it should be a good general indicator that we'll see it within the next few months.

I am quite sure we will never see that USB upgrade. Seems they dropped it, or it's very low on the priority list :(

I actually have to disagree - just heard from Violectric about the upcoming V220 and V281 amps, and Fried Reim states the designs are complete. Moving on to production, and want them to be ready for showing at HiEnd Munich in May. Shipping date will be June.

The optional DAC add-ons are a part of these new models, and there was mention of the "newly designed" 24/192 version as well as the more basic 24/96 choice. If Fried is saying "the design is complete" then I take that to mean the new USB section is also done. Maybe an email to him is in order, for clarification.

I actually just emailed Fried and asked him specifically about the V800 USB upgrade. Will post back when I hear further about it.

I wondered in europe we have the user manual in German language only and I do not read at all.

In the United States you have user guide in English? Someone have it in PDF format ?

Yes, thanks for reminding me.

The 192kHz USB update for V800 is just about done, and should be available later this month. Fried said they had significant issues working with the engineers at Tenor, but have finally got it all worked out. Sounds like the design is done and they just need some time to build the things. I asked if they might consider XMOS in the future, as that is a more reliable solution - Fried basically said he didn't know. Which makes sense - now that they slogged through their issues with Tenor, might as well stick with that for a while. XMOS would have maybe been easier but you can't go back in time and start over.

Great, thank you. Dropping an entire design means spending more money and time, so that's probably why they continued to collaborate with Tenor.

I read all the possible settings : I would like a clearer sound in the high frequencies while keeping the bass impact for my W3000. For you what is the best switchs combination for that ?
