Upgrading from a uDAC2, and I'm looking for an Uncolored desktop DAC w/o an amp for about $300

As I said in the title, I am in the market for a DAC that doesn't color the output, doesn't have an amp, and is around $300. I'm pretty flexible with the cost. It also needs to be at least 24/96 (prefer 24/192) capable through one of the inputs. I'd also prefer something that isn't USB exclusively sourced/powered or forces upsampling. 

 

So far, I'm considering the following:

HRT Music Streamer II/+

CEntrance Dacport LX

Music Fidelity V-DAC + necessary extras

Schiit Bifrost

Cambridge Audio DacMagic

 

Currently, my chain consists of:

Foobar2k FLAC/MP3 > NuForce uDAC2 > Bottlehead Crack + Speedball > Sennheiser HD650

 

Any others around that price range that I should consider? Based on the specs and my desires, I'm really interested in the Schiit Bifrost, but I'd like to wait a couple weeks for some reviews before I consider that more seriously. I'm in no hurry, but it would be nice to research some others in the meantime.

id say the bifrost or the dacmagic for neutrality.

I've heard the uDAC2, anything will be an upgrade and uncolored in comparison.

nope but ive heard excellent reviews about it. i have heard the dacmagic though and while not my taste, is still a great dac and i would say is uncolored for the most part.

Yeah... where exactly have you been seeing reviews? According to the thread on this forum, the Schiit guys are just beginning to ship them out today.
