Quick Cmoy Power Question

So I've got my Cmoy all built up and working ( http://www.head-fi.org/t/85561/post-pics-of-your-builds/8220#post_7777945 ). It sounds really nice so far. But as you can see, I'm using two 9V's to power the thing. Now I'm pretty much just using it on my desk for the time being and I've been looking for a power supply so I can use it from wall power. I came across this http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&productId=174879&catalogId=10001&freeText=174879CB&app.products.maxperpage=15&storeId=10001&search_type=jamecoall&ddkey=http:StoreCatalogDrillDownView and I think it looks good.

So my question is, if I bought this, could I simply take out the batteries, cut off the jack from this and wire it straight to the board with no issues? If not, what would I need to do to get it to work? Thanks muchly!

Yes, it will work as you describe.

got beat to the punch... be sure your opamp and capacitors are rated to handle the higher voltage

Just check and make sure your electrolytic capacitors have a high enough voltage rating.

Ideally, they should be at least 25 volts. 16 volts should work but are in danger of popping

if something goes wrong.

Yep, caps are 35V (overkill, i know) and op-amp is 2227 which will take +- 12 just fine. Thanks for the quick and helpful responses guys! smily_headphones1.gif

what if you built an adaptor...two more 9 volt battery connectors with a DC power jack on the other end. Wire the 9 volt battery clips opposite of the two on the amp, then plug the wall wart in the other end and then you could keep the original portability too...???
