I was thinking a teclast T51 before my zune died.

but now I was reading about the cowon X7, but it has a lot of bad reviews everywhere. I need a large capacity DAP, and I need it to be only a DAP and no other things Im not gonna use.

Its a shame archos never apparently sounded much good, there the only other really large daps on the market. Imagine 500gbs eek.gif

And crap build quality, apparently =/

Oh, you bought it early before they were shipped out with 8GB?

Yeah, there's Archos 5 500GB and the newer Archos 48 500GB. Between the two the older Archos 5 500GB is supposed to be more reliable; the newer one just being made cheaply. Regardless of which one, there excellent videos player that support nearly every video type (even ripped vob files) and H.264 up to 720p in 23fps. As Android tablets and music players, there just bad though. They do support the basic music formats like FLAC and all that, but I tried the Archos 5 500GB in a Bestbuy and it just didn't sound that special.

Of course, I remembered the files on it being 160kb mp3, which the Klipsch S4 do pull a part to a degree. Still, definitely not up to your standards.

lol, the xbox 360 has this same problem. Sounds like the "red ring" with the xbox. My friend temporarily restored and sold his 360 used to gamestop. It must of worked for a good while because they never figured it out :D

Second hand.

With a 32GB SDHC it's fine.

been lurking here for a while but thought I would post here as I am also a big fan of the Zune. (I have owned every model they released and was refurbishing them for a while)  I currently use a Zune HD 64gb as my primary player, but have a 120gb, a 80gb, a 16gb, and an 8gb.  I agree with the original post in that they are pretty durable units.  My original Zune 30gb is still going strong with one of my friends.

I think you might be on the right track with the battery.  If it is not that, then the motherboard is shot.  They can be replaced as well, but will cost you $75-$90.  If you are looking to get another Zune, I just found a couple 80gb units on ebay for under $75, one works great, and one needs a new battery.  The deals are there to be found.

Hope you get it working, and good luck!
