So I have been usually an iPod touch first gen for the last month or so since my Sansa Clip + broke and one of the biggest differences is the sound quality. My rockbox'd clip, with my Audio Technica ATH - ES55's sounded pretty good to me but they sound horrible with the touch. The sound is lacking in the low end, it's muffled, the mids aren't bright at all and the sound just generally doesn't have much presence.
Is this the same for all the generations of iPod touch's, or has the sound quality improved over time?
