DIY an Ear-Speaker Similar to AKG-K1000

Recently managed to get few pairs of ribbon tweeters from friend's factory, they are great stuff and really perform well as tweeter. But my hand got itch again when i saw the beautiful LCD-2, i really wish i have thousand bucks to spare, but i don't so i use my hand instead. 

 

Here's the sound tweaking process:

 

This is a really good tweeter with 5 neodymium magnet bar at the front and back, guess it must be from a good OEM brand.

I cut plywood try to make it like earcup with DIY pads.. LOL

This is the damping process. As the frequency response is unbalanced (at the high side), I was using sponge to damp the high frequency.

So far the test result is very good, somewhat better than HD650, of coz this things are driven by Class-A 30W Zen amp.. will report more when i finally make it into a nice headphones..

 hope to get something fast, big sound-stage, deep bass but not the quantity...something like stax may be
