MF V-DAC VS Audio-gd NFB-2, NFB-3 and NFB-3.1

Hi Guys, Currently I am using MF V-DAC and thinking If I change my V-DAC with any of the mentioned audio-gd DAC's listed in the title of this thread will help me in increasing SQ? Also What is the Sound Signature of the listed Audio-gd DAC's? I think it's neutral.

Is there any significant difference between the V-DAC and any of listed Audio-gd DAC's? Also What are the differences between NFB-2, NFB-3 and NFB-3.1 sonically?

As I have read on Audio-gd website, there is something like SPDIF interface and there are 2 interfaces "WM8805" and "DIR9001". So I there any difference between these 2 receivers/SPDIF interface sonically rather than Sample rates?

Any early reply is requested.

Regards........

http://www.head-fi.org/t/512856/audio-gd-nfb-2-nfb-3-delivery-impression-thread more informations here .

Shortly : NFB2/3/3.1 are better than MF-V-DAC , it's noticeable .

beetween NFB2/3/3.1 difference is not Big (they are all close but NFB-2 is a bit ahead) .

Sonically there is a difference beetween WM-8805 wich is a bit more warm and soft , DIR9001 more neutral and bit more detailled and forward .

for more information go to the mentionned thread ^^

Thank You for ur reply.smily_headphones1.gif

Damn, that's a ultra long thread to read eek.gif Will I notice the clear and big difference when I switch from V-DAC to any of the listed Audio-gd? Can any past V-DAC user tell me who has switched from V-DAC to Audio-gd?

Any help will be much appreciable.smily_headphones1.gif

I went from a V-DAC to a Ref-1 and now Ref-8. The difference is there and was worth it to me but it was a large investment for a modest gain. It's part of a whole system that all together sounds amazing. I would focus your money on better speakers or headphones, then a better amp, then the DAC. I don't think you'll notice much with a NFB2/3.1 with your current setup over a V-DAC. In my opinion.

I concur with tim............

I own the PSB Image B25s and hearing dac differences is not that apparent on a speaker at this level.  Don't get me wrong you can hear differences, but they become much more apparent when you go up quite a bit in the resolution department with much higher priced speakers.  I think you can get sound that is very good with a $250 dac like the Ross Martin that I use as compared to a $1000 dac like the benchmark that was repaced in my system.  It was just not worth the extra $ for me in that system.

I don't think much with your speakers and amp- if you had some Thiel's and an AGD C-500 int. amp, probably. Hey, if you're dying to spend the cash, give it a try!
