EAC problems with ripping to flac?

hi

cant seem to get the latest version of EAC to rip to flac.

no matter what i change in the settings all i get is .wav files.

they then dont appear correctly in foobar, album shows as (?).

what am i doing wrong?

You downloaded FLAC, right?

 

Can you take a picture of your External Compression section?

 

Follow these steps.

Thanks

i am now getting there.

have got the files ripping to flac.

 

only problem now is:-

the 2nd cd of any double album, only shows as "unknown artist/album/track" in foobar!

any ideas?

What are you using to get your tags when you rip? freedb?

You really should look up how to configure EAC. It's powerful, but complicated.

 

Read 2. Configuration - FreeDB/Database Options.

maybe i should give up with computer based music and find a dedicated music server.

then again, maybe not.

went back to eac beta1 and things work as they used to again.

its like re-living the step up from dial-up to broadband.
