ok so my rig as in the title says i have a xbox 360 and hd cable box both using hdmi for video and optical for audio. that is than transfered to optical spillter which than goes to a optical to coaxial converter than finally into my computer which is a HP Pav. a6220n. The Coax. in than gets ported to the 5.1 out which is 3.5mm to RCA. now my problem is when i switch my xbox 360 to 5.1 audio the audio just becomes crackles and such. but when i switch it to stereo it works fine. so i am wondering if any one can help me figure out who is the culprit here and what is causing the audio to become distorted.
My pc uses all onboard audio so no sound cards.
