Just got back from San Francisco a little while ago.  I will try to stop at Staples or something for nametags.  Doors open at 9 AM.  I hope to be there then but may be a few minutes late.  Remeber, it's the Larchmont Room on the lower level.  You can access from the street behind the hotel and you won't have to lug equipment too far. Those with lots of equipment, try to get there early to claim your table real estate.  I'm sure we'll have enough room but it might get a little tight.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few hours now!

Have a great meet tomorrow guys, wish I was there. Can't believe it's been a year since the last one, almost feels like yesterday. I probably would've planned to be at this one too if I hadn't already been to NYC twice this year. But three trips to NYC in one year would've been too many times for me. tongue.gif

Thought I might as well ask, any chance of next year's "fall" meet actually being in December? Have never been in NYC during the pre-Christmas season, really want to do that at some point and it'd be nice if there was a meet at the same time too. Just something I wanted to ask for next year's if possible, not like it needs to be done of course.

I will see all of my Headfi brothers and sisters soon.  Leaving in a couple of hours.

Erik, I just saw this (as usual I am the last to learn about things like this).  I will try to swing buy and check out some of the stuff.  I am still trying to get cleaned up from the "lovely" little Halloween snow storm we all had and now the leaves are coming down big time here so I am doing tons of yard work, but I really want to make if I can get loose for a couple of hours.

Tony Plachy, et al, everyone is more than welcome to attend.  I've been extremely busy this week so I apologize if I haven't updated the attendee list.  I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Sorry, I know it's short notice, but I am donating to the Auction

CAMELOT - The Dragon 5.1

It's a DVD/CD Jitter Filter. I believe that it was $499 Retail - and I know that it has gone for $180 on Audiogon.

Here is the text from a review on Audioreview.com

Price Paid: $180.00 from Audiogon auction

Summary:
In one word: incredible. If you don't think jitter in the digital signal is a problem, you will have a revelation with the Dragon 5.1. The device seems to "focus" an unfocused sound stage. The most dramatic differences can be heard throughout the bass and lower midrange regions, where all sense of bloom or boominess have been purged. The lower frequencies now carry musical information! One result of this new resolution is that the rest of the sound can be heard like never before - last night I heard sonic details for the first time in music I've listened to many times over. But it doesn't stop there. The midrange and highs both benefit from this new "focus" as well, with a resulting separation between voices and instruments, and at the same time an impressive widening of the sound stage. My favorite musical transformation was on a Bach CD, where a sibilant and flat violin suddenly had.... TIMBRE! The whole "digital" character of the music is changed. The most incredible overall effect, apart from the soundstage, is the way the lows, mids, and highs are knit back together into a whole. I can't describe it any other way. The music is so much easier to listen to, the presentation is like a whole, more natural, much more like the recording originally sounded, I'm sure. On the Black Eyed Peas' Elephunk - I heard synthesizer effects - whole regions of music that I've never heard! Amazing. The investment I made in the Dragon is some of the best money I've spent on my system, period.

Strengths:
Read the review. Outstanding, fantastic, wicked bad.

Weaknesses:
This product will probably not work as well for someone with a high-end CD transport that already sends a low-jitter signal. But for me, at an auction price, this was an absolute best buy.

Just returned home from the meet.  Very nicely organized and attended.  I was able to listen to all of those products I was hoping to and never had an opportunity.  Most impressive was the Stax 9 with Woo amp (not surprising).  Was also impressed by the Sennheiser 800 which I finally was able to audition....not as tipped to the highend as I read about and sufficient bottom end with Woo amplification.  Beyer T1 was very detailed and sweet but missing warmth for me.  Scores of other impressive products.  Lucky, not much to spend money on, but the Senn 800 may be next stop.  Thanks to all the contributors/organizers.
