It's Official: NY Area Meet, November 12, 2011 - Page 11

Ooo!  Glad I checked this forum!  I might be able to make it.  Tolls suck coming from philly, but I'd love to give that Yulong D100 a listen!

If I make it, I'd be bringing just about all of the gear in my sig.  I'm curious if anyone has a markl modded AH-D2000 that they might be bringing along, as I've been wary of doing that to my own...

I'd love to check out your D2000s!

I have a last minute work obligation and I cannot get from Albany in time to make the trip worth it.  : (

I hope everyone has fun and I will make every best effort to attend the next NY meet.

I will attend tomorrow.  My wife, Samantha, has also expressed an interest in stopping by later in the afternoon.  I think after three days in Denver last month, she not ready for a full day this month.  I plan to bring a bunch of stuff including the following:

Sources:

Auraliti Music Server - with some standard and Hi-Rez content

Mac Book Pro (iTunes, Decibel, Pure Music)

iPod Classic

DAC:

Cypher Labs AlgoRhythm Solo

Berkeley Designs Alpha DAC

Wyred4Sound DAC-2

Amp/DAC combo:

Red Wine Audio Audeze Edition

CEntrance DACport

Amps:

Headroom BUDA

Schiit Asgard

Headphones:

Senheiser HD 800

Senheiser HD 650

Audeze LCD-2

I’m looking forward to spending more time listening to some Stax setups. I'm also hoping there are a couple of different cables on some HD 800 headphones, as I'm considering changing the stock cable (but modified for balanced) for an “improvement”.  I’m excited to hear the JH3A’s too, as I haven’t had the opportunity in the past.

See you all tomorrow.

Kris

Beth not only will be able to make impressions for those interested in getting custom iems made, but she's an authorized rep for both JH Audio and Westone so you could place orders for their products from her (i believe that if you order from her she includes the impressions at no extra cost).

Jerry is shipping up a demo JH3a unit to her for the show and she will be bringing some universal demos of other JHA custom iems along to show. please note that she is an audiologist and not a headphone geek, so save the techie questions for Jerry. also, it'd be very beneficial if someone could lend a high quality source, such as a computer with hi-rez audio files to demo the JH3a.

Jerry did say that if anyone wants to change sources that the unit should be switched off before plugging and unplugging things into it, else it's liable to freeze up and need to be rebooted, so please be very careful if you feel it essential to make a source change.

Dave, do you have an idea of how much it will be if we want molds (but won't be ordering from JH nor Westone?)

Thanks..

Disappointing that you both can't come. At least SoulSyde won't slap me now :D (just kidding, just kiddin)

I'll be there in the afternoon and will bring my (flawed but still good) ZO2, Pro 900, and the PFE Perfect bass IEM (large tips only, sorry)

i'm not sure how much it will be at the show. there may well be some kind of special for the event. her fees normally are within the range of what is generally charged in this area, but she comes with a reputation second to none.
