Wow, if this has not already been brought up in this board - did anyone ever review one of these things? On a more serious note, can anyone recommend a power cord that is below 200 USD that makes 'any' gain?

This is cheap as chips compared to the stuff patrick bought (and ruined).

Look at the price list for Siltech's Double Crown series. Yikes. As for a power cord under $200, your best bet is to buy something used on Audiogon, like one of the PS Audio AC-5s listed.

I like the Shuyatat Venom 3.  Galen Carol usually has a deal on them too.  Around $100 USD

That is an expensive cable. Almost $3000. However, if my rig cost me $30,000 or $300,000 then it's a cheap Radio Shack cable in a way.

I enjoy building my own, but have used PSAudio's reasonably priced Prelude in the past. It's 10 gauge, well shielded and looks nice. I'm sure you could get one for a song on Audiogon.

Cryoparts used to have the best power cables I'd seen thus far...

 

If you need to build your own, Valabs on ebay has all the parts for a world class power cable. A lot of the stuff I use is from Valabs these days :)

There are loads of good DIY options. Oyaide's PA-23 for example, nobody offers that kind of quality in a commercially available power cable for $60.
