The Basshead Club - Page 643

Ok, I'll list all headphones in looking at and their price, and condition.
Sony Mdr V900: 15$ great condition
Sennheiser HD 598: 85$. Perfect condition. He brought down his pricing from 100$ to 85$. He said the cans didn't fit properly on his head, so he bought some bigger audio technicas instead. So excited to try these out! That's it so far. I think I'll hold off on the 77's for a while so I can buy a 300$ pair of cans for 85$.

Do you guys even read before buying your headphones?!? LOL

The HD598s are known for NOT being basshead cans at all! They are very very enjoyable and comfortable (as well as good looking) but if you are looking for Bass Slam and Impact, those wont provide it... ... ..

I say rap for sub bass and dnb for mid bass :3

But my personal music preference is for dubstep.

I have bass impact cans, but I need a pair for some of my other types of music I listen to, and for music production... Did you not read my previous comments???

What's better? Android audio
DSP Manger
Or
Beats, Acid, and Pure audio 2 mods

I've seen DSP Manager and I personally think it is not bad, but quite basic. Also I don't think Beats Audio is that good, Acid I've heard of but don't have experience with, and Pure I've never seen. If you want a straight up EQ, Poweramp music player has a decent inbuilt EQ, but not a system wide EQ, also Noozxoide comes quite recommended, I dabbled in it briefly and it wasn't too bad.

Beats audio just messes with the music, and detracts away from what the artist actually had in mind... STAY AWAY FROM BEATS AUDIO. Terrible. No built in Eq, just an on/off switch. I was messing with my friends HTC One, and beats audio when switched on made music quieter, and I think it just recodes the audio. It sounded as if the bitrate had decreased with beats audio on. Either way, STAY AWAY. Look into the others if you want. Oh another thing: Stay away from Dolby digital audio enhancer. It creates an unnecessary, way overly done soundstage that makes everything sound as if its in a 180 degree curve around your ears, and makes anything coming directly from the middle have a sort of echo effect, and makes it sound muffled. Not good. I prefer just a good old equalizer for audio adjustments.

Its mainly instrumental, very few words, and they aren't based on sex, drugs, or sappy relationship problems. Therefore, it must rely on heavily conceived melodies, cleverly and awesomely twisted. American pop music also has a very different tone and feel. Dubstep is nothing at all like pop music, except for the fact that both are made on computers. Skrillex is an okay artist for newcomers to dubstep, because he combines American pop music with dubstep, making it familiar, yet different. Believe me. Good dubstep sounds NOTHING like pop music. I was utterly astounded at how a basshead knew nothing about the mother of all bass genres. Wow... Another good thing to listen to is Monstercat. Look it up on soundcloud or YouTube. All good music spanning across different electronic genres... None of them pop music. Dubstep mainly uses bass and sub bass to create melodies.

oh the irony

man i have two headphones coming today and for some reason I am wayy more excited about the M-Audio q40!!!! than the pandora.

I think it is because I feel lost without a fully circumaural basshead phone and I am hyped about it. I might even try and leave work EARLY!!!!. come on clock!!!!! actually I have yet to be this excited. I want them more than the sennheiser hd 8 dj on order too!

When I ordered them I thought they were on ears and then I got excited to find out they were over ears.

sorry for the rambling i just have to vent!!!! its been a very rough week

Very curious to hear your thoughts on the Q40 as you've also got great experiences with the Yamaha MT220 which has been on my radar. I'm expecting you to find it like a more smooth MT220 with more powerful bass, that's the picture I got of MT220 anyway, somewhat harsh but in-your-face sounding like Q40 is due to the non-recessed midrange. Really makes for an engaging listen. My worries about MT220 is that I might find it very slightly too bright and slightly lacking in the bass power department.

I usually dont like bright hp's and the Yam one is the closest to pushing it. Its def not as bright as: t90,dt990,k545,k550,d2k,or any K for that matter, the bass is not basshead though but is also more than neutral.

my ideal hp would be a bass heavy sennheiser hd650 that magically didnt boom into the mids.

gelocks would know. He has had experience with both.

I just disabled Dolby and it sounds a lot better. I was uninstalled beats, but I like it better with, so I reinstalled it. It sounds too high pitched without
