That's a gorgeous cable!!!

One of my dream headphones is the TH900 recabled. The sound on those beauties is easily a 9.9/10 to my ears.

Once I have the funds that's easily in my top 2 purchases.

I hope you guys don't call me a traitor for this but... I kiinda got the Sennheiser HD700 (complete opposite of a basshead can) to complement my Pro 900's. A yin to my yang if you will. It's a very interesting contrast!

I think anakchan said that the dj has more bass on some songs, the th900 on others.

I think its so strange that a headphone like the th900 could even have close to the amount of impact as the super duper isolating djs, as they barely isolate. I thought that had an effect on the impact?

Holy cow do i sound like a fanboy. Well, i guess i am. But whatever. Lol.

I auditioned the HD700 about a month ago and LOVED it. Out of my Spec system it had plenty of bass. I'd buy that headphone, seriously. Good for you.

I wonder if this pandora hope vi is gonna be basshead certified. they say its very noticeable difference stronger than the lcd2.

I know the lcd2 is not bass head quantity. But it was good enough for me. Tomorrow it and the q40 will be here.

That would be ill if I match its bass quantity vs the q40 and find that it is basshead levels or impact.

Someone told me that it had more bass than the D901 DIDO:confused:

I may be hoping too much though but I may believe them.

Question?

What popular headphone barely crosses over into being considered basshead phones; like right on the verge but not clearly on the other side.

Why is a $700 50mm dynamic + BA hybrid headphone being compared to a $1000+ Planar magnetic? What an odd comparison to make.

Anyway, sounds like an interesting idea. I love the way Balanced Armatures sound.

Sony MDR 1R  bump and spectrum . This is nice and I am no fan of Sony per se but these are gonna play most anything and represent the low end very well. I heard them play Jazz which is mid heavy but they had a stand up bass/chelo and it sounded nice.  IMO

because they are headphones lol

The better reason is because I am really curious to see if the Pandora should be recommended here. On this thread you have people talking about a 1500 dollar th900 Bio-cellulose and a 100 dollar q40. There have been plenty of comparisons of the th900 bass to the lcd2 bass even though one is open and one is closed both with different drivers.

Since the LCD2 was listed here as basshead cans (I do think that the lcd2 is misplaced), I have a reference point  so that I can see if the Pandora Hope VI is worth mentioning here. I can do the following:

- Go off memory and see if the pandora bass has a lot more impact or is louder than the lcd2

- use the q40 as a point of reference to see if it comes even close to the quantity (quality aside)

- determine based on those comparisons if it is worth mentioning here or not.

I would say that any headphone that punches noticeably harder with more emphasized bass than the lcd2 can be considered basshead cans regardless of what the kind is. Even if its not the same quality

I am sure someone coming from a beats pro who wanted an lcd2 would like to know not to expect the impact.

Personally I wouldn't compare say, the off-road capabilities of a regular family sedan to a Jeep, some might consider it to be an unfair comparison. Some might even critique the comparison, using phrases such as "comparing apples to oranges".

But, if you want to use the LCD as a comparison compass, then well.. Whatever floats your boat! :p

NINJA EDIT: Perhaps a well-known and widely used can is better for comparisons in this thread. For example, comparing to the ATH-M50 would be easier for people to gauge.

true  if I had it in memory.

I always get the not so known ones. I just think that like if we were talking midrange for example then denon d2k is recessed but sennheiserhd650 is forward. Then pandora is basshead but lcd2 is balanced.

I get your point. I agree with you and I agree with me so I will  do the best I can with all of the above.
