I like mega bass, but the rattling in cars ruins it for me. I don't really get the point. It just sounds like crap.

Well, I do get the point... but I don't see what's so great about it.

IMO

I can see how it would be fun to rattle the rearview mirror of the cars around me. It would be quite hillarious but for listening nothing beats a nice flat frequency response with some tight bass.

^ If you didn't have a powerful system in your car when you were young, you wouldnt understand.

Feeling the music down to your bones. Sharing your love for music with everyone around you. Attention, chicks, friends, & more chicks.

Bass don't get you girls.  Your personality does.  Here in Australia driving around with thumping bass through the neighborhood is a definite turn-off for girls.

Like most things, time and place is key. I wouldn't be caught dead driving through my mom's neighborhood with the bass thumping, but I've met my share of girls while driving to/from the beach/nightclub because the girls in the car next to us liked our music hahaha.

If a girl is going to be attracted to you for your material goods, she isn't worth the trouble.

Personality worked just fine for me...didn't even have to spend a cent for girls.

It isn't about material stuff. Music is a great way to connect with people! Whether driving around town, at school, gym, or at a music festival! =)

Fine crank up the music when driving...the sound drives by people and then fades away.  One can draw a bit of mystery to the driver.

But thumping bass....in traffic, rattling everyone and the neighbourhood.  Say good-bye to international man of mystery, and say hello to insecure tool.

It used to be heaps common with subs blaring - maybe 10-20 years ago...when big power was made affordable to the masses in car stereos and it was all new and cool back then...that's fine.

But now, it is very rare to come across this behavior and even the girls have worked out what it means.

That is what I have observed in Sydney anyway.

If you're gonna re-live those memories...best to keep to headphones.  I myself am looking at the M-100 just for this reason.

that sounds awesome

anyhoo. i was thinking of getting caught up in all the alpha pad craze that went on a couple of pages back and get a pair for my newly arrived d2ks. so i went to the mrspeakers shop and came to a holt when i saw how much they cost. come to think about it, these stock pads are pretty nice as they are...

so to those of you who have done this (cCasper TFG for example), is it worth it in your opinion? how much does it increase the sub bass? how much of a v shape do the d2ks get? is it sharp?
