Others could be used to less bassy headphones before testing a bassier headphone, obviously the impressions will differ a bit. :p

OMG UR SELLING A M AUDIO Q40

Wish I wasn't SO BROKE q.q

and yea I used to use a E11 10DB Booster Xb700 and even THAT wasn't enough bass for me, I found out I wanted depth and kick to my bass not just more of it. I like cans that can DIG the bass into ur head. THE he 400 and dt 880 have that, as does the modded W1000x

ATH Pro 700 MK2 is your bud then, isn't it? Try finding one for a good price wink.gif it's hard but it can be done.

I'm curious about the Denon D2000 now.

I have a D2k on the way, and the XB700 was sold soon after I got the DT 880. the Dt 880 was the solution to my bass problem. I was trying to get more quanitity when I wanted quality

+1. I thought the xb500 simply had too little bass for me, or that headphone bass simply wasnt for me.

Then i heard my dad's dt770 (80 ohm) and realised that i wanted quality over quantity. For the most part :3.

Then i got my hfi 580's and low and behold they had even better/less bass. Then i realised i wanted bass impact, instead of quantity, hence the signature dj which OBVIOUSLY satisfied me, lol

Good point, glad I'm not alone! I'm also TOTALLY going to Mod mine! They are already wooden back, and I'm going to do a Lawton Mod on the DRivers

Me too! Looking forward to tryin a myriad of pads with them actually! I want to try some DX 1000 Pads, as well as some Lawtons and some Alphas. I want the DX1000 for my w1000x, but I'd bet they might fit on the D2k as well

Decisions, decisions... Ultrasone Signature DJs vs Dido 901B. Can some1 comment whether how much impact the bass has? I'm looking for impact, bass you can feel pounding. How exactly does the S-Logic make it sound like, I've never heard an Ultrasone headphone, I personally prefer a more in-your-face sound, I'm worried the S-Logic will make it seem like the sound is coming from a distance. I like it when it sounds like I'm standing at the front stage with the vocalist next to me sorta.

Ohohoho, good question...

I would go with the UnderDog imo, every one knows the Sig DJ sounds great... I'd take the chance on the Dido, not to mention I think the Didio from impressions and is... well built better. I'd be willing to be it's... tougher?

I would think the Didio can take a beating better, and for that, and it's cheaper price new... I'd take my chances on it!

I can find the Signature DJ's for 759 EUR which is suprisingly great price for us europeans and about the same I'd have to pay for the Dido.

I want to hear the Dido, but based on early comparisons, I do want something more balanced at this point, so I am sticking with the Sig DJ.  The sound is definitely not in your face so RPG may actually prefer the Dido.  However, all I can say about the bass on the Sig DJ is that it is simply the most PERFECT bass I have ever heard- great balance of mid and sub bass, goes deep AND slams, yet never bleeds.....having an eargasm just thinking about it.......

What else was done to them, other than wood cups? I know I'm in the minority on head-fi by saying this, but I actually find the DT770s to be pretty amazing. A lot of people discredit them straight away as "FARTY BASS CANNONS" but I honestly think they are incredibly resolving, have a beautiful midrange, a great sound-stage, and are as cumfy as a headphone can get.

I may catch some flack for this, but the most overrated fart cannons mentioned on this thread are the majority of the Sony XB series.
