The Basshead Club - Page 482

Fostex doesn't offer the bass quantity Sig DJs offer AFAIK, for some users like me, I would probably turn to Sig DJs over Fostex even if I'd expect Fostex to deliver better sound quality. I need a certain amount bass quantity to be satisfied, if it doesn't pack it, it wouldn't stay in my home for long even if bass quantity put aside would sound amazing. ^^

I guess you could call Signature DJs for "Bassophile" listeners. xD

Even driven straight out of my Ipod Classic it is never even close to be fatiguing.

I tried only one song and was very very disappointed. Levels (Originals) by Avicii. This is the first track I queue to test ALL gear.

I currently own a Shure SE846.

In my opinion, a fostex th-600 would easily beat it. So would the th-900.

Also not to forget totls custom in ear monitors and totls universal in-ear monitors. Like I mentioned a few posts up, if you got the cash, te ie800, k3003, se846 are all basshead worthy but I worry more about the other aspects of the sound that would turn you off. (IE800: Sibliance, K3003: Fatiguing)

So far the SE846 is the best of the three, and hence my recent profile update >_<</div>

Have you heard either the TH-600 or 900 though?

Heard the 600, very Bassy. DEFINITELY Basshead worthy. Can't comment on the 900 but according to others they are even more v-shaped=more bassy.

In fact I find the 600s to be bassier than sig DJ but its comparison by memory though. So no guarantee.

Well, it failed miserably in that song. Literally my ears were really really fatigued. It's not exactly a good review thus I think I shall comment no further. However, in my opinion, the th-600 is better (bass doesn't disappoint too)

I don't really care about other cans now, loving my 846!

I would like to try the 846 and see how they compare.  Regarding the Sig DJ, I accept your opinion, but can't imagine anything about their sound that could be construed as fatiguing, regardless of a Fostex comparison.

Well, I have no idea. But as said previously I think I would not comment about the Ultrasones anymore.

I just spent a week with the 600s and let me tell you they are extremely Bassy. If the signature DJ headphones are even remotely close to the Pro 900 as far as bass quantity then the 600 is in the game. Frankly I was amazed how much bass those thing can put out.

Now you know I'm a basshead, buddy and want to tell you these do not disappoint at all. biggrin.gif

I think you would be trying to figure out how to keep them in your house...... They are that good.

So how does the sound signature and bass impact compare between the th600's and the sig djs?

Right now all i can figure out is that both are high end basshead cans, and that one isolates very well while the other doesnt very much at all

Happy to see the TH600 and TH900s get some love. Has anyone had the pleasure of comparing these to Sig DJs?

I love my sub bass.

I think it really depends. If you want some isolation at all, rule out the fostex they are terrible at doing that.

However the fostex th-600 has acoustic spaciousness unparalleled and 2nd to none of the other basshead can except maybe the 900s and the dx1000 or d7000. (I think these are the top 4 basshead cans out there, all have their own pros and cons and when you are dropping this kind of money, be sure to go get an audition somehow.

Noone even in the surrounding states would have even one of those for me to audition. I hate it -.-
