The Basshead Club - Page 461

Amazon is having a big urban raver sale right now.  I am almost tempted to pickup the IEMs (AH-C300).  I wouldn't take the AH-D400 for free.

If I couldn't sell it, neither would I.

I'm thinking the AH-C300 would be a step down from my B&W C5s which don't get enough props as basshead IEMs.

DO IT!!!!

Haven't heard bigger bass in an IEM... although, take it with a grain of salt since I really don't like IEMs... but for some reason I LOOOVEEEEE the C300s! (got it for $100 or so a month+ ago)

How would you compare these to the Yamaha PRO 500?

Yamaha PRO 500s have better imaging, better (and more detailed) mids and highs... (there is bleeding of the bass on the C300s). Bass department, it's close to call. The C300s might probably sound a bit "boomy" than the Pro 500s but if you are looking for bassy IEMs, I'm not sure how many are as powerful as these Denons.

Also, since there are a bunch of tips included, you can get different results and tame the bass a little... so it will be down to tip combination to get something you like. I actually preferred the C300s OVER Hifiman RE-400s if that tells you anything... (RE400s are a bit more neutral-ish... is like having a D600 vs HD600s or something like that. ;)).

Hey guys, just bought the Atrio M8's with MG 7 drivers 3 days ago; I burned them in. They're 2x as expensive as the Velodyne V-Pulses. The build quality of the Atrio's are kinda poor for $200, ok actually they are very poor for $200. The sound is decent, the sub bass is more than the Velodynes. They're also brighter than the Velodynes. All in all, if you're a poor student like me, the Velodynes offer alot more bang for your hard earned bucks, with audio quality that almost match Atrio's.

I don't get it... If you "really love" the low end, why look for another one just because "Alpha Audio" (not sure what this is... a website?) says to skip it!?!?

No i love low end in can's,i do not own it yet i was about to but after that review i am doubting cause i need very good low end on my can's and comfort is also a high priority.....

The D600 I auditioned had excellent bass. But they probably had a huge amp powering it in the store so your results may vary. They were designed to be used straight out of your phone though.

It's going trough my Denon amp or the Fiio E10 so.....

Where are you located? There's probably a hi-fi store you could audition them at.

Ah got it!

If comfort is also a high priority, of the headphones (bass-oriented) I've tried, the Denon D600s are super comfortable (or they were to me at least!) along with Beyers DT770 Pro 80, Denon Dx000s and, the Perfect Sound D901 are not bad either.

BTW, HiFiMAN does not make the Pro 900s.

You mean Ultrasone.

Member Oregonian has his Ultrasone Pro 900s fitted with MrSpeakers Alpha Pads (Earpads) and he loves them.

Other believe their highs are harsh. You might need to try them to see if they fit the bill!
