You're asking questions barely any1 can answer, take a dive, both will probably satisfy you. HP-800 seems to distort quite fast when listening at louder volume levels so if you like listening loud I'd maybe outrule that one.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO

I'd concider DT770 PRO's mids too recessed and highs have a "metallic" sound to them, not the natural kind. I returned them for that reason after a few days. If talking "^--" shape FR response I don't think there's much products below 150€ which also are of the basshead kind, Q40 definitely is a "^--" shape and Nuforce HP800 as well, maybe possibly ever so slightly recessed mids but it should definitely be more ^-- than V-shape.

I really liked the xb500 but they were stolen,

so should i buy the xb910 or the beats solo hd as a portable headphone.

What have the better/more bass and which has the better audio-quality.

What about the Monster N-tune?  My son is really impressed with their bass and to me they sound better than the XB500 or Solo with pricing in between both.

Not sure of the conversion, but for $300 US, the M-100 fits the description of the sound you describe.

Those are V-shaped. I don't like that.

Well to be quite honest, my current headphones have even more clarity than the Shure SRH-840, but they're too boring for me. Does the HP-800 have equal sub and midbass to the Q40's?

Those are way too expensive in my country.

The HP-800 has as much if not more.

What about quality and tightness? Also, what about their mids and highs and instrument separation?

Are there any other amps out there like the Digizoid Z02 in and around the same price range? I like the Idea of an amp built specifically for bass.
There are lots of other amps with a bass boost function but as far as I know there aren't any others that are specifically for bass (i.e. personal subwoofer). They usually only have 1 or 2 levels of boost.

+1 to m100.

Took all the advice and suggestions and ordered the V-moda M100, shadow with red crock shield. Can't wait to hear them.

Hey Craigster, at one point I remember you saying that the D600 were your favourite phones (this was before the Signature DJ, obviously). But you seem to have changed your mind about them. What was your final verdict between them and the M-100?
