Where do the Aurisonics ASG-1 IEMs fit in here? Can they be considered basshead???

It has been some time since I have listened to the PRO 900 for a bass comparison, but I believe they are comparable regarding bass.  One thing I recall distinctly is the shrillness of the highs on the PRO 900 to the point of unlistenable and am certain I vastly prefer the M-100.

That's what i have been hearing as well, and why im having trouble deciding although i dont exactly know how it will sound to me as i can't even tell at all with my hfi 580's, which are supposed to already be slightly bright.

Maybe it's because i usually dont listen to music that loud?

Not everyone thinks the highs are shrill or unlistenable. In fact some think they are perfect so keep that in minds before you count them out. I think they are awesome.

Yes, just my opinion.

Never heard the pro900, but I found the dj1 to be painfully bright.

IMO it's irrelevant whether you personally find it too bright or not, frequency response + statistics tell us all we need. PRO900 are among the brightest headphones around, period. Then it's a different story whether you like bright headphones or not. :) I know I don't like headphones that have highs higher elevated than the mids so I don't need to try PRO900 to know I don't like it.

The more "extreme" approach some headphone takes, the more "love or hate" relationship it gets, the PRO900 is probably the expensiest Vs most radical V-shaped headphone signature around. Some people love bright signatures so they will like it, the average joe probably prefer a bit closer to balanced mids & highs though.

Managed to score a set of Sony XB600s for $50, so far I'm very pleased. Just the isolation alone is a huge upgrade from my mdrx300s.

I basicly won a auction for the Sony MDR-XB300 for $19.75 but is that a good deal. It is used but like new the seller said. Shipping price is included btw.

I've already tried the AKG K518 but I did not like, with the volume up, volume was still low, and low were not enough.

To the sound that I seek, what do you think of the Sony V55, Sony XB500, and Jvc ha-s500?

I also had the Creative Zen and loved it. I even had an iphone at the time and still preferred the Zen.

The Pro900 is a major basshead phone - absolutely love them and they handle whatever you can throw at them with no distortion. Same with the D600 so in my opinion you would be happy with either of them from a basshead perspective. I'm interested to see how the M-100's measure up to the other two.

How are you finding the m-100 compared to your others?
