The Basshead Club - Page 385

post #5761 of 11259
And treble sounds like it's going out of a tunnel.

What I do is I pirate the mp3 and if I really like it I buy it on iTunes. Most of the time I end buying the whole album tho haha.

My review for the V-MODA Crossfade LP's...

Remember that this review is only about 30 minutes into the headphones. I will divide the review into 3 parts. Sound, Comfort, and Style. Lastly, I will end with a paragraph-long overview.

~SOUND~

The sound on these is excellent, but not superior. I'd say they're mostly fit for Dubstep, Techno, House, and Electronica in general. Also, Trap & Bass would sound great on these. The bass is exactly as V-MODA advertised it. "Low, Vibrant Bass", which is great for people who are half-bassheads. The bass isn't really in your face, it's just really noticeable. I'm not sure about the mids, since I don't exactly know much about them. I suppose their there, but slightly recessed. The treble is also slightly recessed, but I think a little natural burn-in would shine these bad boys. Overall, the sound is excellent. 4/5

~COMFORT~

The comfort on these is great. I'd say the comfort is good, but not excellent. The headband is nicely padded, not much discomfort on those (except you'll probably have to take them off once every hour). The earpads are great, but slightly undersized. The whole build on the comfort is nicely installed and advertised. 4/5

~STYLE~

These babes will literally turn heads automatically. The shields shine really good, and very metallicly. The oval-shape of the earcups are very nice, it makes your ear fit great. Overall, the style is very detailed and very nice. 5/5

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~OVERVIEW~
Overall, these headphones will please people who are looking for the first step in high-quality music. If you are coming from the SkullCandy Hesh 2's (Like I am), you will be very impressed with these bad boys. I'll give these phones a 4.5/5.
I guess I just joined the club. I got some Alienware Ozma 5 on ebay for $27 shipped. These are supposedly a rebrand of the Ultrasone HFI-550. I could tell right away these had massive bass. The kick drum on radiohead's House of Cards was thunderous. Also the emergence scene in War of the Worlds was great. Makes my sennheiser hd595 and sony mdr-ma900 sound bass anemic frown.gif Also, these seem really loud.. They are 64 ohm and 103db sensitivity, but they are way louder than my sony ma900's which are 12 ohm and 104db sensitivity.. how does that make sense??? I have them plugged directly into a hifimediy usb sabre dac
I owned them for a week and found some serious flaws.  They have a noticeably rolled off high end.  They are also the bulkiest, heaviest, most uncomfortable headphones I have worn.  They are built like a tank, but they couldn't figure out how to keep them from weighing as much as they look. Despite huge pads, my ears didn't fit inside them due to the opening and the pads are hard vs. plush.  These headphones are even heavier than Beats Pro.  My neck actually hurt after supporting them for a long time.  Sound wise, I much prefer M-100 for $100 less.  They did have solid bass performance as one would expect from Velodyne and mids had good detail.  Other than that, I can't say much positive.
