I keep on seeing you guys refer to mid-bass. What frequency range does that pertain to?

Well, I don't live in Amsterdam, but I might be there for vacation soon. I don't know if amazon will deliver to a hotel, and if they do, I don't know if it would be a good idea.
Has anyone orderd from amazon to a hotel?
If possible, I'd like to just get them in a brick and mortar store.
About 80-150Hz especially, this range adds "punch" to the bass, important for house, well EDM music in general. Some people would say 80 - 250Hz but I'd rather talk about upper-bass past 150Hz because it's more like a sound at that point.

Hmmm. I just call that range bass. For me you have sub-bass, bass, midrange, upper midrange, and treble. Midbass just sounds like it's in between sub-bass and some imaginary upper bass (I call it lower midrange), but each to his own.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong but the M100 basically trashes the momentum and dt880 in bass region (quantity) not sure about
quality though. Yet heard the rest. The hps were compared in stock condition without amps or mods.
EDIT: Didn't notice the sub bass part. My views above were about midbass.
Nope, I don't think you're wrong there. From my few times auditioning the Momentum, I felt it lacking in bass quantity, both mid and sub. The M-100 on the other hand trounces the Momentum in sheer bass impact and quantity. I actually A/Bed them together, and it was quite apparent.
I *REALLY* like my bass below 100hz. I fear the 700mkii and Q40 are a mid bass oriented can which sort of turns me off. For all of you talking about the DT770s which version are you referring to?
The 770 80 ohm has considerably more sub bass than the other 770 models. The Sony XB500s have lots of bass, but its more mid bass AND the bass bleeds into the mids too much for me making a boxy sound. Would the XB700s clean this up? I worry about the XB700s treble peak though.
The M100 really looks ideal to me (based on response) but I heard the UE6000 (boosted even to 20hz) and wanted a bit more sub bass, I like the headphone a bit dark which made the UE6000 appeal to me.

hey thanks for the reply..
damn man i just paid for the hippo vb on ebay.. its still on its way from korea.. i guess i should refuse the fedex guy when he hands it to me..
i was debating a lot between the hippo vb and the sony xb90ex and the vpulse.. are u sure the hippo isnt that good anymore compared to those? is there a considerable difference? im looking for DEEP, tight, clean LOUD bass.. i wanna be able to hear all the different frequencies of bass just like a car sub.. i always thought from what i read that hippo vb was the king of bass and beat out vpulse and cks77 ... havent looked into the fxz200 yet tho i will do that now..
and is the e70k decent? isnt it better cuz it has a dac as well? whereas the e11 is just an amp?
On second thought, you should try the VB out. Everyone has different opinions on things, headphones being no different of course. You may like them and find them your holy grail of bass IEM's. Worst case scenario you don't like them, and have to sell them. If we got them from the same ebay seller then you can just return them anyway.
:)
i got mine from this dude
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110932227199?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
the guy is located in the US but he ships them out from korea which worries me because if i want to return i may have to return to korea which will KILL me in shipping with delivery confirmation.
i guess i will keep them and try them out.
i want to know one thing tho.. about the amps.. i dont know whether to get the fiio e70k andes or the e11.. Im not sure but i think the e70k will deliver louder volumes and better bass vs the e11?
i think im going to go all out and also purchase a zo2 to connect to the fiio amp..
are IEMs capable to being pushed by the fiio amps and the zo2? or will they blow/distort?

Don't look any further...

Ahh, good. I got mines from the same guy last year, you return them to an adress here in the US luckily. Shipping is really fast I got mine from korea the same day the shipped (no idea how that was even possible, but the shipping date on the papers was the same day I recieved my pair). Never heard of the andes, but it looks like the E7, if it happens to be the E7 with a new name/paint job, then the E11 should have more bass (based on what i've read from multiple reviews). SOME Iem's can be double amped via E11 + zo, without distorting.

the andes is the new version of the e7 which they stopped making. The andres has 3 levels of gain and for treble and bass u can go from -10 +10. I think the e11 just has 1 level of gain boost and like 2 or 3 bass boost levels. So the question still remains which one pumps out more bass and power.. i think the new e7 andes does since it cost more and seems more in demand.. maybe someone who knows more on this can chime in and confirm this?
and which IEMS are good for being amped and double amped? are the hippo vbs ampable?

Agreed. The Momentums definitely have a slight bass boost compared to the AKG K550 as I was able to do a direct A/B between them, but the Momentums bass is not comparable to the M100's bass. M100 bass just makes you want to jump around & nod your head to the beat when you are listening to bassline since that part really shines through.
In the basshead club, I would imagine people would generally prefer the M100 over both the Momentum & K550, but I actually really like the AKG K550 sound too even though I think I am more of a basshead.

wow listening to Kidnap Kid and The Other Tribe [new EPS] and they sound really wonderful on the Mad Dogs :D, this is the first time the mad dogs have REALLY shined with EDM [they are in no way BAD] but the 990 is more my style... now to try the 990 xD
Hmm, there is more energy with the Dt 990, bass is more aggressive, highs r sharper. But the Mad Dog is very Laid back! So :D the Mad Dogs r a nice bass can I think ^^ [after some eq and the BASS BOOST on my Indeed G3]
Even without the bass boosts the song is still nice [not as nice ofc]

Can you guys recommend a headphone with the Bass of the Ultrasone Pro 900 but with a smoother top end?
M-Audio Q40. Similar bass with less hollow midrange/smoother top-end.
