After about 2 hours or so I get a bit of pressure on the top of my head. After taking them for 20 seconds or so it goes away.

Wherever the E17 starts clipping when I use it as a standalone dac/amp, Magni clips at the same volume level (for the bass) when I hook it up to the line out on the E17.

I broke my toslink cable, so I'm waiting for my other one to come in Thursday or Friday, so I'll see how it sounds like when I use my receiver's dac (computer->toslink->receiver->rca line out->magni). I can't believe that retail stores charge $25 for a freakin cable. I got the same thing on Amazon for like $2.

well i hope it works out. if you find out what the problem is - please share

haha If you want to know if the sound signature is fatiguing, it's not. I came from the XB-500 which was extremely fatiguing, it's bass was muddy and loud and the highs were shrill and sibilant. The M-100 bass is like a purr when not eq'd up and even after being eq'd +6 DBS or so it still remain purr like. Very detailed and very impactful when the recording is. Highs are also a bit laid back but still very detailed, not sibilant or shrill. The M-100 are great if you are a bass head who appreciates quality bass, and not just quantity.

The TH900s were also a lot lighter than I imagined. SoundFreq is DEFINATELY a bass head, all of his headphones are bassy, along with a tube amp, and any song he has is electronic, trance, DnB, Hip Hop, and some metal!

oh gawd.... well Sound and I might have to try each others Xb's some time. I just spent 5 days FIGHTING my damn internet provider so I

'm now BACK ON LINE, but I don't want to SHIP ANYTHING ANY WHERE... still one of these days I'll meet him in person.

Sadly I'm not a bass head... more of an audiophile since my first can was BASS HEAD and every can after was more neutral xD. Still the dt 990 is my end game bass can [till I get the LCD rev 3 <3] so I like it's balance and big bass.

I'm hoping the mad dogs will have a touch more bass than my dt 880s. As I LOVE my dt 880s with certian mega tight dub step!

I have added a few which I think are good basshead cans. If there are some headphones that you feel should be added to this list, please do share them with us! Remember, there is no such as thing as too much bass! L3000.gif

Great compilation, but I think it would be more helpful if organized by price rather than brand. So people in different budgets can compare their choices.

Hi guys,

i just got the Audio Technica Pro 700 MK2's and I'm not happy with the sound at all. Compared to the M Audio Q40's the bass is way weaker and the treble is too bright! I've got an E11 with the bass settings on 2 and EQ on an iPhone set to bass booster but the bass is weak. Does the sound change that much wearing them in or does it stay the same? I really don't know what to do here. I had two pairs of M Audio's break on me inside a month but these are no match to them. You have to turn them up to loud to get good enough bass but the treble is unbearable and those levels! :(

Edit: Just got Denons EQ app from the App Store and it makes a big difference EQ'ing the treble down. The bass is now there with authority. I think I'll have to buy a ZO amp to get some more bass out of these!

Edit 2: Wow, the bass is really strong on them EQ'ing it up, they definitely benefit some EQ'ing! :D

confused_face_2.gif  The PRO700MK2 is very dark compared to the Q40, so much so that it goes beyond subjective opinion.  I'm sure graphs bear this out.
