I like the look of those Aiaiai headphones. The red goes well together with the black imo.

New basshead contender?
AIAIAI Young Guru TMA-1 Studio
http://djworx.com/namm-2013-aiaiai-young-guru-tma-1-studio-headphones/
Has anybody A/B'd the TMA-1 with the TMA-1 Studios? I'm wondering if the Studios are as bassy as its younger sibling. Based on the name, I would suggest its not, but then again, may cans use "Studio" or some other useless moniker to hide its mainstream nature.
If the TMA-1 Studio are as bassy as the TMA-1, I'll probably get it instead of the TMA-1 as its circumaural.
Probably will be too dark sounding for my taste but will keep an eye. For me there's just about 3 headphones currently that falls into my interest:
- NAD Viso HP50 (by far the most interesting but isn't yet released)
- V-Moda M100 with XL pads and maybe padmod to bring mids more forward
- Young Guru TMA-1 Studios (just a feeling but thinking it may be too dark)
These are probably the only contenders that might make me replace Q40 ^^

To be honest I was 99.9% sure about buying the Matte M100 when I get my tax return.
But now I have to see about this new TMA-1 headphone. I'm a major advocate for compact/minimalist over-ear headphones and this one fits the bill nicely. Also the fabric (velvet like) earpads similar to the Beyer's could be a major factor for me too in terms of comfort.
The only thing I wonder is about the BASS since they only have 40mm drivers and the M100 is already well known for the bass quantity and quality from its 50mm drivers.
If only there was a place here in Orlando to a/b headphones like these... :(
I had a pair of Denon D2000's in the past and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately they were defective and died within a month so I returned them and picked up a pair of HD598s. I like the Sennheiser's but honestly the bass is weak compared to the D2000s. I kept them anyway since they're a great all-around pair of headphones but I'm looking to get back into more bass-heavy cans. D2000s have gone up in price a lot so I'm looking into something a bit cheaper (<$300 if possible). Is there anything that's around this price that can compare to the D2000?

It may be, but it says in the video they worked with the sound signature for the new Guru version, so it may not be that dark anymore. Just saying.

They said that it would be more flat sounding than the studios or something like that. I'm pretty sure that they're going to use the same drivers, and rely on the earpads to change sonic characteristics. I may be wrong, though.
Well, it seems like the general consensus is: $300 budget + basshead= M-100. For some reason, I can't help but think that they're overpriced. I think a $250 price tag should be a better price for it. I'll blame it on the overpriced beats headphones for raising the price of every other headphone out there
Bought my M50s for $90. Beats came out. Now they cost $130
One of these days, I'll get around to listening to the M-100s to see if they're all hyped up to be. Until then, I gotta decide on getting the XB1000s or the FXZ200s.

If the M-100 was dressed up like a "traditional" headphone and I paid $500 for them, I would be very happy with the sound for the price.

Well then. Now it's FXZ200 or M-100 or XB-1000. The amazon warehouse has the M-100s used for $270.

ATTENTION FELLOW BASSHEADS:
I was on the FiiO E12 thread and the CEO may be open to somehow modifying the new E12 to add more bass if there is enough interest. If the prospect of an E12 with increased bass boost would interest you and you would like to share your thoughts with FiiO to help make this happen, here is the link:
Read the last 5 or 6 posts to see what has been discussed. For me, the only reason I haven't already ordered the E12 is that the bass boost is too modest at +3dB.
