I'm guessing headfi doesn't gave anything against Monster like they do Beats by Dre

I'm not representing Head-fi, just sharing my personal opinion that they aren't bad at all for $70 if you are a basshead.  At their full retail price, I agree there are better options, nor would I personally use them.

not too much of a Basshead, was never wanted to be one.

But ill say that Sony isn't kidding when they say eXtra Bass...

Been with my Xb500's since I was gifted them. around 2011.

but to me I can say..... ph34r.gif that wearing them + listening to them, the bass starts to fatigue my ears into hurting.

I think their pretty good for gaming with, the passive isolation, decent soundstage

Grado Sr80i  - Music Listening session cans

Sony XB500- Basshead cans, for some occasional gaming, and bass music sessions

Koss Portapros- for Gaming primarily.

Computer source: Asus G73JH

I'm afraid any headphone from Ultrasone will make me look like a fool lol I have to wear these in public 90% of the time !

The amp part of the ZO is actually not very good I'll admit, but the bass quantity is UN FRIKKIN REAL, and for that alone I recommend it in this thread above all other amps.

Craigster has recommended double amping the ZO with E11 so you get the quality from the E11, but the bass boost from the ZO, and I'm going to be doing something very similar with the BH once it arrives.

I am a disciple of the double amping idea........my source (iPhone or iPad) into E-11, then into ZO and ending at my XB700's. think I'm a bass head? And to top it iff, my source has either Equalizer or EQ10 driving with a V curve.

An amazing combination. And to think I almost sold my ZO.

I didn't know aesthetics were what mattered in a pair of cans... If aesthetics matter so much try the V-MODA crossfade LP 2. They're good looking, very bassy, and sound decently clean!

Don't get me wrong its not about aesthetics much but I had the Shire Srh750 DJ and it was extremely big and bulky on my head and I looked crazy lol.

What do you guys know about the pioneer HDJ 1000 and the HDJ1500. preferably the 1500 I haven't heard them yet . I rally liked the 1000 though
post #4287 of 11259
I demoed both of those pioneer cans at best buy a while ago. I found the 1500 to be rather loose and awkward fitting. They aren' really that great SQ wise either and unamped they aren't bassy at all.

Of course sound is what's most important, but I would feel really uncomfortable wearing a pair of white and grey Signature DJ's on the subway, as much as I want them. I ordered a pair of matte black M100's which should arrive any day.
Can you say how that stack up against the 1000 and the 2000?

If you like their sound signature and are looking in that price range, you may want to check out the Aiaiai TMA-1.
