I need some advice on a headphone, but let me tell you first what I currently have (and had).

I tried the ATH-m50, and desired more punchier bass.  After returning those I went to the ATH-PRO700MK2, and would like more bass.  I also don't find these headphones as clean sounding as the ATH-m50 for some reason.  I am thinking about returning the ATH-PRO700MK2 to amazon if a better option is available.

Anyways, my budget is about $300.  If something goes for far less I am open to that too. I am looking for a solid pair of over ear headphones with really punchy bass, good for dubstep drops EDM and the like.  I really appreciate coming to a new forum and getting advice from the aficionados.  Maybe one day I will become one.

If you help me feel free to use any technical lingo - I need to look up and understand that stuff so now is a perfect chance for me.

Thanks,

Dubby (which is the name of my cat XD)

p.s. I use the Z02 is there something better?

I listened to xb800s, and honestly overall the in the line of xb's, only the 500 is worth its price. All others are more or less the same, xb500s are best bang for your buck and has the most amount of bass out of the line.

You won't get much better than pro700mkII in terms of bass really other than gluing subwoofers to your head.

Well, I'm off to best buy to get the xb800s. I'm not expecting anything awesome, so we will see if they're able to top my modded ad900s.

Well, they didn't have them at best buy. Guess I'm not getting them, unless someone wants to trade for a $100 best buy gift card.

How does the Xb800s compare to the xb1000s? Planning to get the xb1000s before they run out but not sure if they are worth buying when i already have the xb800s.

M100s are good bassheadphoens, but they're more musically balanced and you wouldn't get as much bass out of it.

Though he states he uses the Z02 which is pretty much a subbass enhancing amp, and so, will retain the musicality, whilst adding a lot more oomph, without distortion.

So do I get the XB500's now? I decided on those.

I'm abut to order my M-100s, what portable amp should I pair with them and my iPod classic 7th gen for the cleanest bass boost? I was thinking the C421 but I could just wait for the E12 possibly.
