Here is a short critical excerpt from the review that should make every basshead run out to buy them:

"bottom end too hard-hitting and overpowering"

Had them for about a week, loved them, pretty solid build quality, but are heavy and look really awkward on the head, I wouldnt even consider wearing them in public.
So for the price and at home use only I think there are better alternatives.
Definitely bass head, sound sig very similar to eph-100. I had the blue ones, the paint reminds me alot of their sport bikes.

Can you compare to any over-ear headphones?  Are they bright?  Bass scale of 1 to 10?  Which headphones do you consider better alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

Yup, I have the WS55. They are pretty solid, punchy cans that actually deliver a decent bass-powered sound without sacrificing too much quality.

Yeah, I agree. Judging from the FR graph, the highs look too badly attenuated for my taste. It looks like a v-shaped can, probably similar in sound to a PRO 900.

Did you double amp with a ZO/E11 combo?

yes, but I just received Vamp and prefer that by itself compared to the ZO/E11 combo with zero EQ needed.

Would you recommend the M100 over the PRO700MK2's? Any amp suggestions?

100% yes unless you prefer a dark sound signature and must have that bit of extra bass punch.  Amp depends on your budget, but the E11 is always an inexpensive safe bet with nice bass boost.  I also have a ZO2 with is the best amp around for bass boost, but I consider the E11 to be a better all-arounder.  I have also been double-amping with both and having impressive results.

Any idea if the Philips Fidelio X1 is a bass heavy can? There's a great promotion under 200€.

question for you craig, when double amping do you put the headphones in to zo or the e11?

ZO.  I have E11 through LOD, ZO into E11, then headphones into ZO.  Be sure to start with ZO on low setting and low volume on E11 or you may have an unpleasant experience with your headphone drivers confused_face.gif

It seems to be of DT990 Pro caliber, ie. among the bassiest open-back headphones that exists. I am very interested in this headphone if it wasn't open-back and leaked like a squeeling pig.
