So, I bought my Beyer DT 880s in September this year, been really enjoying them and have been pulled into another hobby now. I decided on them, as they seemed to be a great place to start. But I like bass, always have. And so after looking at this thread, I'm thinking about picking up a second set of headphones for those times I want bass.

I'm looking at the following and would like some input on which would work well with my setup:

HiFiMAN HE-400 - I think these are the current front runner at the moment.
Ultrasone PRO 900
Ultrasone HFI-780
Ultrasone HFI-580
Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium 600 ohm - I've read these have a good bit more bass than the DT 880s. But, I think I would like to try a different brand right now.

I listen to a wide variety of music, pretty much anything that catches my fancy and sounds good. Basically, I'm trying to decide if I should put out the money for the HiFiMAN 400s or the Ultrasone PRO 900s. Just not sure if it would be worth it, or if the money would be better spent on the Ultrasone 780s or 580s.

My Current gear:
Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro 600 ohm
Maveric Audio TubeMagic A1
ELE EL-D01 DAC (Likely to be replaced by a Tubemagic D2 soon)

Any thoughts would be great, as I am kinda at a wall.

nah bro get teh Dt 990 250 ohm it has MUCH more bass than the DT 880, I have and love the 880 but its no bass head can

Well, I don't have an M-100, bu it's supposed to be slightly bassier than the M-80.

The LPs are literally just bass monsters, and you're not going to get a lot of fidelity with them. Any LP/LP2 and M-100 owners out there who would care to offer their opnions? smily_headphones1.gif

I have owned the lp one for pretty much exactly ten months. They sound awesome to me, but it takes a basshead ear to fully enjoy them."Normal" people would probably have to search for the mids and highs, but we are bassheads this is what we do xD. I have also found that you can eq them to meet practically any need. Based on reviews, I would say the LPs really are that much more bassy =3

Me gusta, this is a good example of basshead mentalit... WHO NEEDS MIDS OR HIGHS I GOT BASS

 

And eq is ofc fun!

Had a listen to the earpods today. Little isolation, but its quite fun actually. 

I'm listening to them now with bass boost and eq-ing and it's has really satisfying bass IMO

I do from time to time but I more so browse and comment with like minded tunes than go on a discovery trail. Ill Post mixes eventually, get some audiophile feedback.

but OH WHOA, didn't know the Teisto Series had a 67 167 AND 267 versions... hmm I wonder... the 167 are SERIOSULY hyped... part of me wants to see if it's holding up to that hype!

I have the M50's and a Fiio E11 but now I looking for more bass while being super portable because frankly the M50's are pretty darn big.

How do the DJ100 handle an iPod Touch 3rd Generation as a source and how big are they vs the M50's?

I would think the Dj100 would be smaller and easier to drive BUT I doubt they have more bass... the DJ100 is pretty bass heavy but it's really an all around bass heavy can... but again I'm not to farmillar OH hey, The Xb500s! They are ONLY driven with a DAP [DON'T AMP THEM] and they are well... the most bass your really every going to get :D and everything elese sounds pretty TERRIBLE lol but for PURE BASS they are... better than my XB700s. Which I think many ppl get the 700 and 500's confused cuz they 700's sound plenty fine to my ears [against the dt 880 the 880 wins only be like 20-25% which is a big deal but not really] 

 

Non the less I don't own the XB500s but... I hear they are Fart Cannon KINGS, but again... the bass is muddy but has some MEGA impact to it

They are tempting but they look very very silly and esthetics are a factor in this unfortunately

And I also would like to fold these cans and tops them in my backpack in a little pouch. I heard the Aiaiai capital are getting a pad update but I am set on either the K518, the K618 or the K67 at the moment unless there are superior basshead cans out there that share the portability and small size of the AKG's I am considering.

Has anybody tried the Logitech UE6000? They aren't ideal for portability but I heard that with the Active Noise Cancellation they pack a mean punch.

Umm, perhaps something like the SOL Tracks HDs? Not too bad, but vocals are a bit recessed. Good for most EDM though. 

Pro DJ100 werent that bass heavy IMO
