my lcd-2's just came in :)

BLAO! there goes my disposable income until like febuary :(

initial impressions just based off like first hour with them, bass wise they're earily reminiscent of the xb1000's in terms of sub bass, they reach down deep, but where this trumps all my other basshead cans, MIDS!!!!

creamy, peanut butter jif smooth mids! finally powerful bass and lyrics i can actually hear now!

xb500's slam harder tho, these are still open cans after all, but so far, color me impressed, i'll be back with more impressions and comparisons after i've spent some more time with them

Had to eq the sh$% out of my friends dt770 / 600 to get real godlike gooey bass. I hope the beyer COPs I have on order don't need this much eq to get the same level of bass though.

Well, like the others have said, the HD25 isn't really a basshead can. It's a pretty good headphone with decent bass properties like the M50. But as a basshead can, the HD25 are really quite lackluster.

Oh nice and I LOVE that your talking about the Xb1000 in a discussion of SUB BASS WITH Lcd-2's! As I totally want a pair of xb-1000s but Crud I so BROKE... and in FEbuary I'm getting a Chunk of change... not sure what to get >.> a HARD core Tube Amp Dac and Dt 880 600 ohm combo OR new Bass head CANS and Dap... I'm leaning to the new Bass Head Cans [since that would free me up to selling my Zune and Xb700 and Fiio E6 (which would pay for the Dt 990 :D)] So I'll proably have to w8 for ear gasmic dt 880 bass [as the 600 ohm is a little warmer than the 250]

Non the less SOny Xb [ODD NUMBERED] series me gusta, also at 100% [My Zunes Max Volume] the XB700's have sub bass that Kicks your teeth in... YAY, I'd been listening at like 85% wondering WHY you no kick more... although i'm using an E11 set at 3 it's nice set at 4  and YEA baby, setting Fioo E11 to Volume Level 4 is equal to the [un amped] Zune HD's Volume 30 [or max] So yea... still I like having BASS at 3 hence is why the Xb1000 and Dt 990 are being recruited [and OMG I want the Dt 990... for some DnB :D] 

ooh :D I like that idea, exicted now! Just not looking forward to having to screw with min Sd Cards >.>

Really? My time with the DT770 with a Fiio E11 and a ZO2.3 left me feeling a little unimpressed. The LP/LP2 certainly differs more bass at stock levels than the Beyerdynamics. I didn't push the DT770 to the max with EQ-ing and amping, but the bass quality was certainly clearer than the V-MODAs. To be honest, the LP cans can't take much amping without starting to sound like a bear howling in your ears. Not that I've heard a bear howling in my ears before... 

If you like punchy cans that can withstand a lot of amping, you might want to take a look at the PRO700MK2. Those are really good basshead cans, with a lot of EQ-ing potential.

im acutally looking at the a900x as a possible bass heavy sidegrade to my 770s... perhaps k167....

only once did i push them far enough to distort and that was with an e11 on 2nd eq setting and a 10 db bump with eq. and that too was with a bass heavy song. cant remember what it was, probably something by TRUTH...

edit: i take that back, it wasnt something by truth, it was by high contrast, and it was a 128kbps track, so its probably more to do with the poor quality file than the cans themselves.

i admit i was disappointed with the 770s when i 1st got them, as they dont sound bass heavy AT ALL imo, but theyr very bass capable, and can handle any equalization iv tried them with.

Well I am a basshead, and I bought the COP's and was quite happy with them until the right side speaker started to clip at high volumes when paired with a Clip Zip/E11 combo. I've sent them back to Beyer for check/repair. There is someone else here that had a similar issue with them and also send it back to Beyer. I hope is not a (design flaw?) due to the 16ohm/100mw specs. I've used this combo with my other cans (M80, HD280Pro, HM3) and they all take it like a champ.

Where is the fun of having a headphone like this if you cannot crank it up? 

LP's came in!

Time to burn them in. Bass is great right now though, what should I expect after burn in?

ZO has the best bass boost by far.
