Gunna try out the DJ1 or hfi 580 next (I hear they are they same with a diff. paint job) next to see if it is only certain cans that sound...... strange to me or do they all (well all that I will try anyway). Still trying cans b/c the feeling of the BASS on the 700's make my 77's feel...... polite lol

No, I wasn't getting on you I just don't want people to think his music is bass head music... it's GREAT music but Dark Cans really kill it [for me anyways] But it also depends on the song and my mood, some times I really dig the darkness... but it's better brighter imo

I agree, cans do deliver better bass impact (feel) thats why I decided to try these. For me (maybe it b/c of the cans I tried) Iem's SOUND better but for sure I won't deny cans FEEL better. I am at a loss here and wish some super tech would be created to allow me to hear cans as I hear IEMS. Then I would go for cans only, no brainer. :)
Well Cans and IEM are both different bass, I like cans as IEMS feel bizzare in my ears... not to mention cans are WAY sexy'r!
Yeah, I can't listen to music un-amped anymore, unless I have no choice (like at store or friends car radio or w/e). I keep 2 extra batters for my amp in my bookbag lol.
What amp?
you just made my day. BIG UPS!
how do you mean different bass? im in the process of checking out the differences between the bass on my dt 770s and my dtx 101s (i only use iems when i travel) and i havnt had much time to compare but so far, the iems just feel boomyer, whereas the dt 770s provide a better range, with SLIGHTLY less impact, id like to hear your opinion too. again, im recovering from an ear infection wich made/kinda still makes listening to music abit painful, so i cant say my assessments are accurate, infact theres a good chance ill change my mind when i fully heal and can spend more time with both, but still.
on an unrelated subject, hows it going with the dt880 + amps? im curious about your choice of bass boost, the dt 880s arent all that bassy (from what i read around the forum of course, not by listening to them) and i wanted to know how much bass boost you use to reach the effect your looking for. are 3db from the fiio enough or do you use the 9.4db of the jds? or none? or the 2nd fiio bass boost option - how much of a boost does this one give btw?

I won't speak for Mshenay, but I don't think you can favorably compare a bassy IEM and bassy cans. The air pressure from the dynamic driver is as much of the experience as hitting 20Hz. I don't get that with any IEM. Simply my opinion.
oh im only doing it out of curiosity, each have theyr own roles to play, its not a competition, just a comparison =]
E11, might try out the ZO soon, when/if I find a can I like.

NEVER FEAR!! I AM HERE!
*Crickets...*
First of I have to give AbsoluteNoob a repost here.
Hi man, thank you for answering me.
Answer these:
1. Type/Style of music. mostly RnB and pop
2. Preferred type of bass and amount. The more deep bass the merrier and ALOTTTTTTT : D
3. Price = 350 CAD and below? 350 USD and below would be nice but I dont mind going 50 over if something is more worth it
4. Type of phones? IEM, on ear, over ear? I always thought that over the head and over the ear headphones give alot more bass than the rest, so i guess ill go with over the head/ear.
5. What kind of sound is most important? Punchy bass, crisp mids, dull highs? definately the punchy bass As in besides bass, what other attribute should it have? I love hearing the highs when a female comes in to sing during the chorus of RnB songs
6. Any other details you think we should know. love bass more than life : D almost
Also.
7. Do you have an amp?
After that we can narrow down a type of headphone you would prefer, 350 bucks covers a nice range of phones.
That was his PM to me, but I don't think I am qualified enough to answer your question ABN!
I could recommend some cans but at the price you have I am not sure I would do you justice and more or less sell you short. I'd honestly say get a decent amp for $100 and then spend the other 250 on cans or go 200/150 in terms of phones to amp. In my experience with bass cans - which isn't extraordinary by any means - I've noticed that an amp can really bring out the bass, especially one with a bass boost of some kind. E.G. FiiO E17 or the ZO2.
Yeah so as far as bass cans go I couldn't recommend a good 350 USD bass can. Though for 350 USD I could TOTALLY recommend some really nice other cans. I'd probably say a Denon D2000 would be a good shot, though not as bassy as you may want, it should cover pop well which is very demanding on mids. I also hear DT770 and DT990 but again, one of these guys would know more than I.

Hey, was wondering if you guys could help me out with something. I'm an audio term noob and can't tell mid from sub bass. Two tracks I listened to yesterday on my pro700mk2 I just got and these sound ultra sexy on those things.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmLDc0Ofuj8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4hvIUrpYb8
I am asking for you guys to tell me if these songs are more mid or sub bass focused. I want to know so i'll know which sound to focus on, on my next IEM purchase.
These 700's are like magic once I opened them I had them on for 5 hrs straight. Would have been longer but I was called to help with dinner lol.
I find them clampy and I also find the bass isn't deep or punchy enough for me. That is me of course. Remember they are Monitor Headphones which means the mids are more forward and defined and it's more clear of a sound rather than all immersive bass drowning your face in ooy-gooy-ness.

1st: mid bass
2nd: bass (not really sub bass)- I like this song. Any more like it?
On your pros, have you swapped out the earpads? You can check my sig or look at my posts in this thread and the pro700mk2 thread for more info on them. Make sure to read up on this to get the gist of how to describe a sound.
Also, this may help you. Some other member posted it on here, and I found it very informational.
That keyboard is a life savor.
They don't need amping by any means but a bass boost and some forum of EQ REALLY do make a difference IMO. My Razr phone drives these perfectly. Very nice phones that can make you go deaf without any amping needed.
I prefer the E17 though I've heard the E11 has a bit more bass oomph when used with the Pro700MK2.

Thank you Ninja for helping me out! And guys I just want a bass-y pair of headphones. I was about to get the Beats Studios before someone told me to check out the logitech ue 6000 since they're getting alot of press. I live in Canada and we don't really get the latest stuff right when it comes out so I went to every major shoppign chain to find them (Walmart/Best Buy etc), but no luck finding them.
Besides Beats Studios, can you guys suggest a pair of headphones that's just as bassy but with clearer highs?
Thanks in advance guys

Ultrasone HFI 580 has probably 80% of the bass of the Beats Studios, but with clearer highs (and everything else). If you have a bass boost amp, just ramp up the bass and you'll have a Beats Studio without all the crap.
any pair of headphones with 120% of the bass and clearer highs than the Studios? does something like that exist in the $350 price mark?
Thank you for your advice!
well, i have dt 770s, bassy, but not the bassyest. i also have a cmoy from jds labs, with a bass boost of allmost 10 db. if i use this bass booster, i more or less bleed from my ears.
there are many amps that increase bass, aswel a software/hardware equalizers which will enable you to boost bass. the cmoy comes highly recommended for excessive bass imo.
try looking at the list on the 1st page, then read some (alot) of reviews on the headphones that look best to you and are in your price range, then get a bass boosting amp (i think theres a list of these aswell). i promise you youll have more than enough bass.
