Well, I've got this DSP that I found on hydrogenaudio that heavily increases bass quantity but I haven't used it in a while because I don't need it due to the Q40. Hawaii will probably really like it though. Here's the recommend bass boost settings found on hydrogen audio:

Indeed; a shame that hawaii is fully portable, otherwise he would've really appreciated that DSP.

Well, what I found odd was how the basshead club dap list had Samsung galaxies and apple ipods and iPhones, cowons, and Sony Walkman as the daps... I guess nobody can/has update/updated that in a while?

Not me - I found the Nokias to have a worse signal to noise ratio, and the noise floor was audible. They also had some nasty OI issues, so they weren't great for lower impedance cans (compared to the 5s).

Pumping them into an amp was no problem, however.

Well, I've only ever tried amping the 925 and 5s... Never tried either one straight up. Which Nokia did you try? You have to be specific. Nokia and apple both change audio aspects of their phones every new Gen.

What are the best basshead headphones money can buy. Getting a job over the summer and looking to upgrade my equipment. I currently have the JBL 55. I'm currently looking at the JBL synchros

The TH-900 is, to my memory, the most expensive basshead can available today.

They're only 100db/mw not much sound pressure. My current cans are 115db/mw
Synchros are 117db/mw

That's how efficient they are and doesn't say anything about how they sound. They're really desktop cans even though they're closed-back, and you asked for most expensive so I gave you most expensive ;)

Hmm, best available for mobile use? Out of the cans which I have heard, I can think of the JVC SZ-2000 if you like a ton of bass, M-Audio Q40 if you like a well-tuned bass-heavy driver, DT-770 80-ohm for a nice v-shaped sound signature and V-Moda M100 for tank-like build quality and a v-shaped sound signature without piercing highs. I don't have any experience with JBL so I can't help you there, sorry. I can give you a nice list of nice basshead headphones which I haven't heard but I doubt that it would be very useful.
