That must look quite cool. Do you have a photo of the 770's with A-pads ?

I might have to pick up some Alpha Pads for my DT990 Pros actually. What do they do to sound?

That's cool. I've bought dozens of used phones on this board and never had a bad experience. Saves a lot of money. A tribute to this community.........

In my opinion they widen soundstage a bit (due to the driver moving slightly away from your ears). I don't know if I'm describing it correctly, but I'd say the DT's sound airier with alphas. Once I strapped the 990 pleathers on my 770's I didn't think there could be a more comfortable headphone in the world, I was wrong. When I'm in front of my computer at home I rather wear the headphones than not, even if I'm not listening to music (like that ever happens) :D.

tw. Had a quick chat with Matt @FAW, tomorrow I'm sending these off to be recabled! ALL IN :D

So it's been 2 days since I got the Denon C300's (didn't post anythng here as I was swarmed with tests and assignments), and up until now they're sounding good. Quick impressions:

Sound:
-subbass extension is fantastic
-enough bass for nearly every basshead
-mid bass hits hard! Kicks and snares really do shine on these.
-mids are surprisingly good, not recessed..
-treble has nice extension and is smooth..

Other:
-the build is worrying
-The cable is worrying
-it's really hard to get the right fit (but once you do you'll be happy)
-theyre freaking huge for IEMs..
-not sure I can take them running

Anyway, I'll be posting a full review soon. Keep in mind that I'm new to IEMs (these are my first quality IEM) so take my word with a grain of salt..

I'd like to see JVC start a new line of 200$-500$ headphones so audiophiles(I'm slightly audiophile myself! smily_headphones1.gif)will actually buy them... Why do many people think expensive=good? More importantly why do "Audio Experts" think that expensive=good?

http://www.amazon.com/Victor-Stereo-Headphones-HP-DX1000-Japanese/dp/B000A7IAY6 ? Is this the same JVC as the "Value" brand... I've always assumed it was

Non the less, JVC does make a nice bass heavy Can [It's their niche I do think]

I'm still enjoying my heaviliy modded D2k :3, kicks the old HE 400 I had in the rear! Yea it's not as fast but it's close and it hits a little harder! I got into EDM with an XB700 so I guess I'm a fan of closed back on the go EDM do this day ^^

... Or if you buy from a guy like Hawaii who pounds the living **** out of his drivers...

pretty much. Those are a beautiful pair of cans right there... I'm thinking of putting something between the pads and the cans on my k240's because the pads are so shallow. I am impressed with the bass response... I don't know how to explain it... It just seems like they reach deeper... Maybe its the clarity. Doesn't have all that foggy sub-bass. I think akg is more my style than JVC's. I will end up getting sz2000's eventually(who can resist not getting a pair of artillery cannons, and strapping them to your head???!!!) when I get money, but for now... These akg k240's are my new favorite. The 5 db boost of bass is what I like, I think. Slight bass boost, flat mids/treble. Also they sound so beautiful for piano ballads, and 70's and 80's pop/rock. So nice. More bass than I thought there was going to be from charts... Then again, the reviews say the bass is bloated. Don't know about bloated, but its boosted a tiny bit. Not to basshead levels. Not even to the level of ath-m50x's by 3 db.

Alpha Pads on a beyerdynmaic headphone is very interesting thing to say the least. Looks wicked, and I would love to try it.

Just stuffed some first aid kit wrappings(soft cloth, not that paper crap) in between the cans and the pad, and they are now a lot more comfortable. Audio quality doesn't seem to have been impacted negatively.

Congrats on the new cans!!!

Yep. Its great. I have a can for thump, and a can for detail... I think I'm set for a while!... And by a while, I mean for a year or two... I think. Not sure yet. Might get a job or something.

I love doing this! Having two cans compliment each other as a "set" depending on what you're in the mood to listen to..

Awesome!
