you're rollin' with Hawaii over there in Japan?... That's awesome! Does he just roll around in his car blasting bass out the back, wearing his sz2000 like I picture him doing???...

Over a month ago I sent my TH900 to Mark Lawton for his damping magic as well as taking off the XLR plug and shortening it up a bit (now it's about a 4' long Q French Silk cable with a 1/4" plug).  Just got them back today..............the one thing to keep in mind if you have Mark do work is on the cable side he outsources the work.  So it took 3 weeks to get that done.............anyway, I'm simply amazed that an already amazing pair of cans with tremendous bass stock came back with the tightest, deepest and sweetest bass note I've yet to hear.

Between them and the D7000, I'll have to do a sound-off and check the results.  For now, I'm glad to have them back after over 4 weeks away and the sound is lovely.  Audiophile bassheads of the world unite...............

The only other can I will buy are those. Let me unite then. I will have migrated from extremeophile to audiophile by then but I reserve the right to cross back and forth :D

Congrats on getting them back

I'd really love to hear your thoughts on these with your music. Might be interesting. These I think can pound enough even for your needs.

I did already and they can. I learned a lot..A LOT while hunting and that is that The Fostex TH900  and J.V.C HP-DX1000 or 2000, are the only "Audiophile" cans I would ever buy. Period. I have what I need already these 2 are what I want...and will need when my musical tastes come back to the beginning...and they are so sexy

Anyone want to take the plunge on these?

I'm a big fan of the XB series (both the old ones and the new ones) so I'll probably order some day, but I think I want to wait for a month or so.

Had MDR x10. Poor sound quality and bass. Not worth the money, the sound is muffled. Haven't tried the ear buds though.

What a change of mind! What happened to you?

Without EQing , I wouldn't use them but EQed (at least when powered from my FiiO E18) they are damn nice specially for the $60 I paid for them. I just got Sens momentums (returning them) and my new main headphone the V-Moda M-100 but that does not make me think the X10 is garbage all of the sudden ;) I use them mostly for TV shows now since I like the "meaty" sound.

No, I exchanged them. I tried on a cheap $30 pair of JVC headphones that my parents had, and sound quality and bass was much better than the Sony's. The cans I have now have much better sound quality and bass. More bass than the JVC 55'S.

I paid less than half of what I bought the Sony's for. $44 for better sound. One of the cheapest cans I've bought.
