Hey guys, just like the title says.

I'm looking to place an order for some new headphones. Currently have this in my shopping cart at moon audio..

Beyerdynamic DT 880

Ohm Rating
600 Ohm Dragon Series V1
Cable
With 5' Silver Dragon V3 Headphone Cable
Connector
Oyaide 3.5mm Plated Right Angled Plug
Split
Stock

Total cost would be about $650 shipped.

Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

I listen to mainly rock, RnB/rap, dubstep, and classical.

Heya,

$650 for a DT880? Why not just step up to Ortho?

Heya,

Well, if you're willing to spend $650 on a headphone, especially the quality level of the DT880, I'm curious why you don't just break right into high-end. And at that, why not get yourself a nice orthodynamic. As it is, for the cost of that DT880 recable job, you can get a used HIfiman HE-500 high end, or for a bit more even the LCD2. Any amp that will drive the DT880's will also drive the HE-500's and LCD2's pretty well too, so it's not like you have to get all new hardware.

Or if buying new, look at the Hifiman HE-5LE.

Very best,

I recommend getting a stock DT880 for under $300.
