@MrArroyo - awesome feedback : thanks for that. I dont know if I spend too much time in the shallow end of Head-Fi, but the Graham Slee amps dont seem to have much of a following here. I suspect a large part of that is the exchange rate and the preference among US customers (this remains a very US-centric board) for local kit - thoughts ?

Appreciate your honesty in the review, but I have to wonder if you got a prototype or simply a faulty amp ? I'm not denying anything you've written, but it sounds like there was something functionally wrong with your Butte beyond anything related to your personal sonic preferences. I seem to recall that Skylab has had similar issues with certain amps and had to send them back to the manufacturer to repair before he could finish his review.
Note that I'm not trying to whitewash your impressions, particularly as I havent heard the amp myself (!), but they are so far away from everything I've read on any of Todd's amps that I had to raise the 'faulty unit' possibility.

A very fair comment. I have not discounted the possibility that it was faulty... but in any event it should be in the hands of the next reviewer by now. Whether or not they encounter any problems will be a sure sign.

You are correct that Graham's products do not get a lot of following here, a pity IMO since his headphone amps of which I have owned a few sound very nice. To me it is interesting to have listened to the evolution of the Novo => Green Solo => Solo SRG => Solo SRGII and shortly after I complete the burn in the Solo Ultra Linear. The sound is compared with other similarly priced units on the mellower and more forgiving side while providing excellent musicality and "involvement".
