I own a Cowon J3, D3 and D2 and I have never had any issues with my Cowon DAPs on Mac OSX except for one time when I forgot to eject the J3 disk on Mac OSX desktop which resulted in me having to reset the J3 and install everything back onto the DAP again.

I have a Mac as well. The lack of definitive information regarding Mac/JS3 compatibility is enough to scare anyone from trying the two together especially with the quirky nature of itunes.  Until I see a step by step walkthrough I'll stick with the Touch or Classic.

I just plug the J3 into my iMac and drag and drop music then I right click on the J3 disk icon and select "eject". I have no problems apart from being paranoid at the invisible files that Mac OSX puts on my J3 disc which can be easily deleted by using a program called BlueHarvest. I don't use iTunes on my J3 because iTunes is the worst music transfer app I have ever used.

So I have to delete the hidden files before I eject??

Mines coming on Thursday, and I really need to know.

Thanks

I was reading that the hidden files that Mac OSX puts on the J3 disk bricks the DAP. I have never had that problem with the hidden files but I like to delete them anyway incase they are interfering with the J3.
