Dynaudio Image speakers were assembled by SCAN Audio in Melbourne in the early to mid 1990's. The last were sold off I think in 1997 - 98. Very high quality workmanship and parts, but not really true "Dynaudio". Yes, they used some Dyn parts but also probably Vifa and what ever other parts SCAN were importing at the time. Image 2 mkII (which I also have) sold for around the $1000 mark. Image 1's about $800, Image 3's (the pick of the range) were around $1400.

I worked in Hi Fi retail at the time... loved them then, still ove them now. Have seen a few kicking around on ebay. Good condition can fetch $800 - $1000 still.

Good luck!

 Thank you very much, mfree.

Have you ever compare Dynaudio Image mk2 to other Dynaudio speakers? How is the sound quality of Dynaudio Image mk2 compare to others?

and why this speakers named Dynaudio but assembled by SCAN?
