Another record from  the LP era, Ambassador Satch (European Concert Recordings) Mono. This is on Columbia and my copy is an early 6 eye pressing. Good full standing image of Armstrong in formal clothing with suit case in one  hand  and his horn tucked under his arm. Has some early standards: Muskrat Ramble, Twelfth Street Rag, and West End Blues among the 12 songs recorded. Not sure of the sound quality but I have 2 copies so I must have liked it enough to acquire 2 copies.

FYI, y'all…the new November Stereophile just came in the mail, and it has a great interview with famed Columbia Records producer George Avakian, who produced Pops' records and signed Miles Davis. It seems that Avakian is currently working on a Dr. John tribute to Louis Armstrong. I would've linked to the piece, but it doesn't seem to be online yet.
