When I shutdown my computer (xp x64 sp2) I get this unknown program that hang's my computer. Problem is, the program is chinese (mandarin I think). This seems a bit suspicious to me. Ran a full AV scan with Norton Corporate and malwarebytes. Could anybody that speaks chinese tell me what it is?

Thanks

Trace the program to it's root from the taskmanger

Delete from your system.

That indeed is Chinese, but, it doesn't make any sense in terms of grammar . Do you have the Chinese language pack installed ?

Yes I have the asian language pack installed even though I don't read much (a little).

Tried tracing the program, it isn't listed in task manager or any other program that monitors running processes. It does a good job hiding itself which is why I suspect it is up to no good.

Its probably not a Chinese program then. The Chinese should just be errors or something alike. Some time when I try to open a image file with text editor I get the same kind of Chinese as well.

However, this is a process running in the background. It isn't caused by opening stuff the wrong way/ It doesn't kill itself on shutdown and thus hangs the computer. I suspect it could be one of those "hidden" programs that doesn't list itself as a running task.

However, I had the language pack installed about 5 months ago when I did a fresh install and it just started coming up today.

With computers, if its not broken, don't fix it. Unless you have anything important like bank account details saved on your PC I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I can't stand my system working weird. It's the main object of my room, it better work as it's needed.

Honestly, that seems suspicious.  If it was me I would probably back up important files and do a clean install of XP

Destroy everything

Or just install Linux as a dual boot and use it more often. I've got several OS on my system, but I only use W7 anyways.

Exactly, that's been my practice since I first started using Windows.

I have a dual boot of Ubuntu that I use often since it boots in like 3 seconds compared to 4 minutes for Windows. I just did a fresh install about 5 months ago, maybe its time to do it again...

I don't like Linux because it's difficult to break the face (the show) to get inside and tamper with it.

Windows, it's wide open.

Mac is worthless trying to alter.

"But BotByte, Mas doesn't have any viruses."

Yeah, you know why? No one wants to hack a Mac. I've got a friend that has several Mac viruses, but why use them? Everything you want is on Windows.
