MDR-V6's beaten & blown out, buy a new pair v. AKG518 v. XB700 v. HD280 v. whatever you suggest?

Hey everyone,

   I have a pair of MDR-V6s that have seen me through two years of skiing on Mt. Hood -- on the hill & off... needless to say it's been a tough life for them.  I have had to replace the jack on them twice (they sounded just as good afterwards so I know I did it right, haha) due to their time spent getting knocked around in my pocket.  The other day I plugged them into my iPhone 4 & the left phone sounded blown out.  There's a definite rattle going on whenever the low notes hit. So I'm in the market for some new headphones.

   I loved the quality of the MDR-V6, so I'm looking to stay around that price range.  The only thing I ever really wanted for was a bit more bass. I listen to dub, rap, electronic music (deep house, nu-disco, some dubstep) and Crosby, Stills & Nash. I've been combing through the back pages of this forum for a little bit and I'm having a hard time choosing between the following:

AK518

XB700

HD280

another pair of V6s, treated a little nicer

what should I do?

thanks for the recommendation, MalVeauX... those sound pretty ideal - but I wind up using my phones around people a lot & don't like making them listen to what I'm listening to.... and it sounds like the isolation on the Panasonics is a little lacking.

I'm leaning towards the K518 at this point -- I understand they've got great bass & isolation --- I'm just wondering how they stack up against V6s. or the XB700... people seem enthusiastic about those.
