I need to replace the crappy coiled cable on my HD280's - coiled cable sucks!

Dug out a pair of HD280 Pro's from under the bed. I like them, but the cable is heavy and annoying. I'd like to replace it.

I was going to get some Mogami Quad cable and a good connector from double helix. Are these decent choices?

I have a couple pair of HD280's, and as I recall the cable is user replaceable and Sennheiser offers a straight cord for them as an option.  I would prefer a sraight cord myself but I was never bothered enough to get one.  If it is still a stock part from Sennheiser their straight cable is probably a more cost effective solution than a custom cable.

I gave a quick look just now but could not find the part on the Sennheiser USA site.  Pretty sure I saw one before though.

I'm going to attempt a DIY recable on these.

I have selected

MOGAMI W2893 MINIATURE QUAD MIC CABLE and Neutrik NYS231BG 3.5mm connectors.

if anyone has other recommendations that are moderately priced, please chime in.
