PreSonus Central Station questions...

Thread Starter

I have a few questions about the PreSonus Central Station.

1. How many mV does the headphone amp put out?

2. Is the amp neutral?

3. How does the amp compare to a Dynalo, SQ wise?

4. Does it use a stepped attenuator?

5. Can I use the PSCS DAC instead of my CDPs internal DAC?

6. How would I go about this? ^^^

7. Could the pre-amp be used with my turntable? In other words, does it apply the RIAA curve?

8. Where is it made?

1. I don't know, but it should be in the literature.

2. Yes.

3. Favorably; both are neutral.

4. No. I believe it has normal pots for the two headphone amps. They worked fine in the one I had; I didn't notice any channel imbalance or non-linearity. The preamp section has a relay-based attenuator which is excellent.

5. Yes.

6. Use a Toslink or SPDIF from your CD player to the Central Station.

7. No. You still need a phonostage.

8. I don't know. Check the literature.
