Nice review. Makes waiting for my B2s to get here unbearable. I'm somewhat disappointed that the bass distort when pushed hard. Is there an ear phone or iem that doesn't distort bass when push really hard, for example the booms which movie?
Thanks for the review, I'm highly interested in the B2 especially after receiving the Beta's today.
Oh yeah. The other spectrum of the BrainWavz line, like the M2 and M3 are good for that. Also, the Klipsch S4s. Higher budget... probably senn IE8s. There are TONS of choices.
I'm glad you liked it. How do you like the betas?
The Beta's are my favorite IEM, I prefer them ten fold over everything I've reviewed including the RE272.
Thanks for the review, glad that yo enjoying them so much and the B2 are certainly not for bass heavy music.
Do these sound identical to the DBA02s because I have heard these are simply the DBAs rebranded
Is there a iem with all the sound characteristic of the B2/dba-02 but have tons of bass? Just wondering because I would be interested.
Just get a ZO for the B2 if you want a lot more bass. But the FAD A1 is a good choice for maintaning good clarity and detail retrieval with more bass (at about the GR07's quantity).
Are the betas pretty much the best IEM for under 50 bucks?
I can't say that for certain, but of the ones I've used so far I enjoy them the most.
There is no "best" there are bests though and perhaps it's one of them.
Nevermind, I just received my B2s today and found the bass to be enough. Will the B2s improve with burn-in? The sound reminds me a lot of the AKG 702 but with more bass and less sound-stage.
They improve a bit. Nothing mind blowing.
I have really been loving the actual sense of a soundstage on an IEM. I had never experienced that before.
Bass really is enough for most.
Hey Congrats on your B2's.
Yeah, they are pretty special. Don't let the Comply's that come with them keep you from getting more of them. A few of us have noticed that these seem to die faster than the platinum colored ones. Comply P-series (trimmed) is all I use and it makes for a great seal and sound. Deep insertion will improve the bass slightly. And the seal has to be tight.
Soundstage? Herm, uh, well... yeah. I actually don't hear anything imposed on the recording. Just the recording, clear and clean, with the instruments where they always were. But hey, however you hear them... it's your canals. ![]()
Enjoy!
