He's not being mean...? Well, probably not inherently mean. The W10VTG was created in 1996 and has the double wire headband (although AKG started using it much before), and a suspension system with (I think) the ATH electrets in the 70's.

Anyways, I'm super interested in these, especially the A900X.

And keanex, you realize that the minute you buy an AD2000, the AD2000X will be released. wink_face.gif

Now, since they've upgraded the closed back, does that mean the open back upgrades coming soon?

Count on it.  It is just a matter of time.

I know =/

I'm going to bide my time and worry about college first I think, then invest into a new camera before I worry about more audio gear. I really want the Ad2000, but I'm very satisfied with my Ad900 for now...I guess it helps that I haven't heard the Ad2000 yet ;)

These prices are crazy, those TAD500 are gonna be like $50 by the time they hit the interwebs. Who are they trying to compete with?

Hopefully the open headphones won't be to power hungry.

Audio Technica's are known for being easy to drive in general. I wouldn't worry.

Awwww...shucks.

Oh well, wait and wait then, that's the game for head-fiers with slim wallet. Lol.

Probably should go with the denon d1001 first till the whole new upgrade from ATH is out.

What do you guys think of denon 1001, being the first step to headphone world?

I love the D1001, I wish they still made them.

they don't?

Nope, unfortunately the much bassier D1100 took their spot, while going up in price.

I saw on their website, they still sell the d1001 though.

Nevermind, what i said, i just checked yeah it's discontinued.

Keanex, you;ve had the d1001 before? how does it compare to ad900?

The 1001 is still made by Fostex.

Now called The Creative Aurvana Live (!).

It typically retails at half the price of the 1001 and measures better than the 1100.

Highly recommended.
