Heya,
I like the one without the wings. That's a good looking headphone. I just hope it has bass. I'll buy one regardless. If I keep it is the question...
Very best,

Very best,

Why did they steal a page from the AKG method of designing headbands? On the other hand, the headbands do look nicely padded and comfortable.
Also, here's the price conversions from the Japanes Yen to the U.S. Dollar (as of 9/20/2011):
ATH-A500X - $130.68
ATH-A700X - $196.03
ATH-A900X - $261.37
ATH-TAD300 - $39.21
ATH-TAD500 - $91.48
I don't see the resemblance to AKG at all, but as for the prices, wow. I hope they appear cheaper than that, or the new design means a nice increase in sound quality.
Heya,
Oh wow, prices are nice, I like that the TAD500 is only $90. It's the only one I like the look of. But I'm more interested, sound wise, in their closed offerings. I have an unhealthy obsession with closed back headphones that have good sound stage and great overall sound, but of course, must have bass. Here's hoping audiotechinca. So far, only the ESW9 has delivered for me. The other A/AD series and M50 have all been let downs for me. So I have some hope for this new line.
Very best,
I think you really misunderstood my point. When you look at the headbands, the A-T and the AKG share that similar "hoop" appearance. I see quite a few similarities in that aspect.
Pictures as follows:
You're way late to get into the argument of similar designs when both have been using that design for well over 10 years now.
Neat, hope some higher end offerings are on the way as well.
love my a700's. so the 900x might be a future upgrade...though ive been looking into beyer too...
Why such an *****? I'm just trying to point out some similarities. I'm not trying to fight with anyone here.
Oh-ho, nice!
Welcome to the internet!
Hopefully these sound good. I've enjoyed my A700s so I'll keep an eye out on these headphones. I'm not really sold on the wings though, so moving to a full headband looks interesting.
The prices are pretty good, would be interesting to read up on some impressions.
prices are lower than I expected. has anyone found some technicalls differences between the old and new models?
Well, this place used to be quite civil. It was one of the "great escapes" from the rest of the Internet. It was safe here. We collaborated and all came up with great ideas to upgrade our headphones and share our experiences. We didn't come to this forum to kick people.
Dang, just when i was thinking of getting the AD-900, but oh well these are 2 different types, one being open back, and another is closed back.
Now, since they've upgraded the closed back, does that mean the open back upgrades coming soon?
On one hand I hope they do, on the other I hope they don't.
