The Fuze is a good sounding player that is easy to use and has a decent eq to shape your sound. I don't have the m50 phones so I cant tell you how they sound, but they aren't my idea of portable -- ok for home, but I like in-ears for portability.

A portable amp helps small players drive headphones that nee dower to sound their best. From what I've read about the m50, I'm pretty sure the Fuze will be ok with them. But if you want to try a portable amp, there are several under $100 (like the Fiio E11) that will amplify and expand some the signal from the Fuze. The JDS Labs CMoy amp (in an Altoids can) is a great amp for about $70.

So, welcome to Head-Fi, and sorry about your wallet!!
