I honestly dont remember where I found it so I'd just google a bit, but basically you just cut the plastic edges on the hifiman insert a few mm down and then itll fit in.

Thanks for the quick reply. See that is what I thought and read but then I read this:http://thesoundapprentice.blogspot.com/2014/12/brainwavz-hm5-ear-pads.html?showComment=1422058502625&m=1#c1123473299789972325 and was like cut the driver screen, wth!

And yet, another idea:

 

HE-400 with Denon AH-D600 ear-pads :o2smile:

 

l trimmed the original rings (initially to fit the HM5 ear-pads) and they fit the Denon's ear-pads perfectly.

l don't find a big difference in the sound. Wider soundstage, that is for sure. Then, l'd say l noticed a bit less bass and treble, something (if at all) very, very subtle... Now, they look muuuuch better, and are way more comfortable than stock pads (whether pleather/velour).

 

ln any case, l will put them back to where they belong (the Denons) as the HM5 and the Denons do not pair well. There, the sound difference is very clear (even more bass!). Tomorrow l will be getting a new pair for the HE-400 (click here to see them).
