I'm getting the j$s soon, but those hm5 pads sure look interesting!

Does anybody know where I can get them in Europe?

I'm also in a project where I'm modding the velour pads of hifiman. I'm going to cover them entirely with leather, really curious about this!

HI all.  I am about to order a couple of pairs of the HM5 replacement pads and decided while I was at it, I would offer to ship pairs to the EU for those who couldn't order through conventional methods.

I've done this once before, so I will limit it to 10 pairs.  As I make no money on this, I ask that you keep this info to this thread only.

Don't go telling others as I want those who have posted here to have the option to buy them first.  If there are spaces left over then fine.

PM me for details.  I am going to work out the details now.  Just a guess with shipping to you, approx $35 including shipping.  I will work out individual shipping on an individual basis.

I am going to reserve names and take payments before ordering.  So if no one replies, no skin off my back.

Your generosity for the EU members is beyond reproach.  Thank you !!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Stock Denon D2000 earpads and of course the J Money D2000 pads work with the HiFiMan HE-500 with no modifications. Just simply exchange the plastic rings. Plug and play.

I have swapped the Denon JMoney pads on my HE-500. Early impressions are not as drastic as many claim. There are very minor sonic changes. Unfortunately the differences are easy to get confused with what you want to hear and what your actually hearing.

I do believe I can feel some more impact and heft to the bass but my early impressions are that the new pads negatively effect the sound signature of the headphone overall. I need to spend some more time with it before I give any specific details on what Im hearing.

Oh yeah, as a side note to some previous comments I have also noticed with the JMoney pads that I have purchased that they are not aesthetically perfect. They are custom made, quality is good but when we're paying this kind of money you hope for products that have much stricter quality control and less variance between products.

The Denon/JMoney/Lawton Audio D2000 pads have a different cut out/opening, they are angled and have substantially more padding.

Changes were very minimal. They give ever so slightly more bass impact, heft and bloat at the expense of snappiness. Midrange sounds hollow and the treble more tinny. Changes the curve of the headphone from flat to V shaped.

I would not recommend the Denon/Lawton Audio/J Money D2000 pads as a replacement for the HE-500

Try my mod (link in signature). I've also tried LCD3 pads / J$ beyer pads / Hifiman stock velours and pleathers, but still prefer those by a big margin for HE500.

Just swapped my MarkL 'stuffed' D2k pads on my HE-400 and there definitely feels like more impact as mentioned above, but it does take away from the sound signature of the 'phone. I'll cycle through some more genres and report back if anyone else wants to know.

Yeah no, not enjoying this as much as the velours with the exception of comfort. Infinitely more comfortable for me, personally.
