Vsonic GR07: Perfection (Added MKII vs Bass Edition 24/03) - Page 4

The cable is insulated with a silvery layer which will green in time due to oxidation

The cable is stiff and slightly rubbery, the bends from being retail-packed has still not flattened out after 5 days of use.

The cable stiffness absolutely requires the ear guides to wear over ear as they absolutely resist staying behind my ear at all. And I hate earguides.

Maybe I'm spoiled coming from Westone cables and Sennheiser IE7 cables which are...  light years ahead.

This might just be a deal-breaker the cables.... I might just put them on Sale or Trade and settle with a Westone UM2...

The nozzle articulation is also a tad too stiff. I was almost expecting super flexible nozzle ala Feels Pro 900 which coincidentally is one of the most comfortable IEMs I've ever had. They're not uncomfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Not westone UM type comfy..  but pretty much better than the rest

But if you can overlook these minor shortcomings, this is one helluva IEM. The bass is perfect. The presentation, balance and tone is brilliant.

Doesn't mean the GR07 isn't right there for best deal going with the right tips. Folks that like it a bit more anaytical may still go for Phonaks or DBAs/B2. For me, the B2 while possibly the most detailed was just too hot when it had it. I actually prefer gray Phonaks but if that's not weighty enough, it's GR07s. There are tips that tame them without shutting them down. I just wish they came with them. I really appreciate manufacturers that finish their products and eliminate the tip crap shoot. (Phonak)

We will soon... I'm trying to stay strong, but I think I'm about the breakdown and try this FXT90. The FX700 was my favorite universal for a long long time (except I didn't care for the somewhat recessed mids). I hear the FXT90 is close enough to the timbre of the FX700 without such recessed mids (and according to shotgunshane, drum that are on par with the GR07). I believe the drums in the GR07 are the best reproduced I've heard in a universal (for different reasons the 7550 and the W4 both come close). I'm definitely beginning to hate some of you guysconfused.gif (no names----shotgun!!). Excuse me, I sneezed!!....lol

I'm starting to feel like some kind of bully!

I must have pushing on 250 hours on these now and I can happily say they are my favourite universals still - Even with my Miracles here I often choose to listen to the GR07's - Vsonic are gonna have to do some serious work to beat the sonic capabilities of these with future products - These are diamonds

They really are diamonds. They just keep growing on me. I've been without mine for the past week (on loan) and I miss them dearly.

You have Miracles? lucky bastard

Based solely on feedback, I'm deciding between FXT90 (more musical and fun to listen) vs GR07 (the more neutral).

And the 7550. Too many phones, not enough $$'s, time and ears.

I'll be getting the JVC's this week I'm hoping they are on par with the vsonics with a different perspective on sig, hoping they're not too similar, maybe more fun?

Awesome! I hope you like them

Hey, I like their cables! Their rubberiness makes me feel safer, I couldn't care less about the greeness (couldn't be worse than Apple white cables getting dirty...) or the bends that resulted from the packaging.

I'm with luke 100% on this. I really like the cables.Very Comfortable over the ear, nice and rubbery after the split, hardly ever tangles, and no Cable noise..Microphonics

For me the cable is not the best.. Although its quality is top notch the connection on the strain relief is wrong manufactured IMO. if you put both housing next to each other you can see that on both the cable comes out of the strain relief the same way. This causes the untamed nature of the right one. Cable guiders are must for me with silicones BUT.. now with my fantastic jays foam i dont need the guiders since the foams force the nozzles to stay in place whatever what.. ksc75smile.gif

I sent in mine to get replaced, and I got the 'newer' ones. I don't even need the guide, and I can actually coil it up and it will stay in place. Definitely two steps ahead of the older GR07 cable.

Both. The newer cable is just far more supple. I was pleasantly surprised that it just laid flat over my ear.
